Good! The media gives this a sad "what about the children" twist, but I knew someone who worked with the Canadian Teacher's Federation office in charge of this program.
Basically, they had 10 "administrators" earning between $60,000 (for low-end) to $120,000 for the director. They took free expenses-paid trips (including one who stayed at a nice hotel in Paris and had all her meals paid for). Taxpayer's money from CIDA, of course, while the teachers went overseas as volunteers, these fat cats were milking the system. It was more like a charity for a bunch of fat middle-aged women, and I've been saying for years that CIDA should give them the axe.
