I got a "clone" I built from parts I got where I work at. Of course, it's a PC, since I play games alot, or at least, used to...

Intel Core2 Duo 6800 Extreme
2Gb RAM 800MHz

1.5 TB Hard drive space (4x 150Gb raptor striping, 500Gb)
8800 GTX Video card.
Some basic sound card, Audigy S4 (just so games dont suck up any power from sound)
Antec Mid tower, no leds, no shiny shit
LG DVD-R
DVD drive
no floppy (haha yeah)
1000 Watts Enermax Galaxy Power supply (this baby shuts down the block everytime I turn on my pc)

I still own a CRT monitor, Hitachi CM715, .21 diag pitch, pretty bad ass, even if its 9 years old hehe.

G15 keyboard (a must if you play games) and a MX1000 cordless laser mouse with 10 buttons (good for gaming but godlike for Photoshop)

So, why all this HDD space? I hate burning DVDs, so I keep em all on my HDDs (I have external storage for my special backups) and well, where I worked at, some people would leave their PCs at the store and never claimed em back, so I "exchanged" some stuff for newer stuff.

My PC runs great, even on Windows XP/Vista. Can't say I hate windows, since its the only thing that works "nicely" with games.

Why not a mac since I do photoshop? I am allergic to apples... (literally) hehe, seriously, nothing appeals to me in a Mac, that's it. Not that they're not good computers, but now, they're just PCs with an apple sticker, with a different OS.

I love Computers, but I am not a geek, well, at least, not a zitty one haha, I also wear no glasses...

:)

I don't believe we have met French_Canuck, so welcome to CKA, Im Mysterio10 (real name Tarren). I got my Mac because my other 5 brothers got it for me for my birthday, but I bought the Vigor Stealth, which made my wallet alot lighter  , but I like the Mac G5 :).But that's my opinion.

G5 is a nice machine for sure :) I sold a few this year.

What's a Vigor Stealth? Is that a brand?

I still have my Alienware Area 51 ALX for gaming (for close to a year now - nice machine) and I have a cheap, off the rack Dell for surfing the net. It replaced my Gateway P3 Windows 98 machine that finally died this past summer. I've got a couple of whiteboxes at home for various uses - mostly for simulating workstations - but the two I've listed are my principal machines.

Dell 4600, Intel P4 2.8GHz, 1.5 GB DRAM, two hard drives (100GB), SoundBlaster Live, Creative Labs Fourpoint Surround 2000 speaker system, nVidia 5200 video, Hann-G 19" flatpanel LCD, MS 6000 wireless mouse, Win XP, mid-tower, Sony DVD/RW, HP Photosmart All in One.

It's getting some age on it. It's time to get an additional desktop with Duo-Core or AMD, haven't decided. I use to build my own till the last one. For regular computing I'm not sure it's economical. If you're gaming or doing graphics/video it might be worth a custom box.

Be happy you don't have the 'annoying medal'. But I got it because it is in my nature to be annoying.

I've always wanted the Yankee medal, eventhough I'm not a Yankee in the Civil War sense. ;)

I had mine custom made, big mistake it's not a very good computer. The man who made it used a internet chip thingy that no ones ever heard of (made in China) and that makes getting things fixed difficult. I'm going to replace it this summer.
