I didn't realize that in the .ini settings file for shoutcast I could append "CKA Radio" to the name.

So I think we are going to change how we fill out the yellowpages info in the shoutcast plugin while dj'ing.

We should use the "genre" field to actualy list the genre of the music your show is or you are currently playing. Rather than using it to put your username in.

Instead use the description field to put your username in or the name of your show and username. But here is the catch, when you enter your username in the description field put [] around it. Thay way I can try and extract the username to provide a link to your CKA profile page. So it should be the same username you use on CKA.

here is an example:
Ripcat's Tower of Tunes [Ripcat]
or you could even blend it in with the title like:
[Ripcat]'s Tower of Tunes

Remember to also fill out the URL field with: http://www.canadaka.net/radio

I did as said above and whatever goes in Genre is what is displayed beside DJ by the ticker. I had changed it to Rock and when I clicked on rock iI was taken to some strange dude's profile....

i totaly forgot to do this, but its done now!

So all dj's will want to make the changes to there settings.

I strip out the square brackets when I display the title.
Also if you hover your mouse over the show name, it will show the Genre info.

I know this is an old forum, but when using the brackets Trev, is it only for Winamp or can it be used for any other Broadcaster software?

it should work with any of the programs that you might use to connect to the shoutcast server. I deal with the brackets in the code on the website.
