winamp is s sure bet to work.
sometimes when a DJ changes, you need to reconnect to the stream, just stop then play, or double click it in winamp.

I have tried everything. I even downloaded many things only to find out I still cannot play anything (and there was a DJ DJ'n). It has been frustrating and all this downloading is making me feel insecure.

Here's another utility for the DJs... get rid of those awkward silences during the song transitions with this Winamp plugin...

It actually analyzes the song and picks the right spot to fade out/in, so it sounds really good... The regular crossfader in Winamp is crap, and the other one I tried, FadeAmp, is too complicated.

I haven't tried it yet with CKA Radio, but next chance I get I will.

Get Winamp, not required but recommended. You can use Windows Media player, real player or itunes to listen as well. But you do need winamp if you want to be a DJ.

This plugin really works well, I recommend it too.

A question, BN: When this thing installed in winamp it worked fine right away for playback - is it necessary to do any fancy configuration stuff for it to work for shoutcasting?
