Quick advice...buy infrastructure and only infrastructure (that's how your population grows). Don't spend money on tech or land (unless you get a warning saying that you need more land). It is about 70% civvies/30% troops and population density is good at 20-40 people per mile. Definitely don't waste money on planes, cruise missiles, or tanks like I did. Try and maximize your resource trades to get a couple of bonus resources.

You can grow your nation by doing tech deals. You buy tech and sell it to older, richer nations. This works because tech gets more expensive the more of it you have. It might cost you $10,000 per level but older nations pay $50,000 a level (or more)/

The USN is a neutral alliance, so our fighting is usually in defence of other members (like Proculiens), so don't expect a lot of offensive fighting. Most wars occur with weaker nations, so as long as you have our tag, you will be less likely to get attacked (and receive assistance and aid if you are).

I forgot, try to buy infra in lots of 10 if possible (if you need to wait a day or two that's okay), because, like tech, it gets more expensive the more you buy. This will wind up saving you money in the long run.
