Yeah. Plus there's way too many WW2 games these days. You think people would have had their fill of killing Nazi's already.
Uncondtionally hating Nazis is the last acceptable bigotry. There'll never be enough of that.
Of course, there'll never be an end to guys who mash up games where the bad guys are Nazis and turn them into whatever some liberal will cringe over.
On the MMRPG front EA Games is developing a persistent world for Battlefield similar to WoW where clans can actually stake out spawn points and claim ground. A friend of mine is the game controller for the testing lab in Walnut Creek and has shared some buzz with me about it. Says we're looking at Christmas this year on the highly optimistic side for a release and more likely Christmas 2008.
Details:
The game map is the whole world with really small oceans but large enough that a BF jet fighter will take several hours to circumnavigate the "planet".
It'll require a monthly fee for access (no more free servers!!!) and the initial game will be US$50 to US$75.
Unlike BF where you can jump into a kit or a vehicle you'll have to purchase and download kits and vehicles from EA to use on the map.
And, yes, I'll buy it.
