And what is your point? In similar threads you always bash the domestics and praise the imports... Your opinion is as static as mine...I merely disagree with you...but I refuse to name call...

I don't, suddenly out of left field, start recalling the "strategic need" for "our" industries in WW2 or how the Japanese are using slave labour. What the Germans did in WW2 is pretty silly in the discussion about the future of GM. Worse set are your arguments about the “value” of vehicles when the discussion is regarding day to day vehicles and you respond with prices of auctioned collectibles.

Your opinions constantly are coloured with some agenda that makes no sense within the topics. You go to extremes when countering anyone else’s opinions about imports. This topic is just another example. The subtext of “Toyota bad - NA good” is thin and silly. You are no different than some of the radical political hacks around here. Spout as much verbiage as possible ignore the content as long as you can point fingers.

You mean like Mustang1's absurd comments about me getting my cars repaired at Canadian Tire or how I consultant with the mechanics at Canadian Tire about what car to buy? After constantly reminding him I do not he continues to do so...

Or like his continual assertion I never heard of JD Power prior to his "informing me" of them? One would have to live in a cave to not to have heard of them...the Chevy truck ad "Like a Rock" that mentions how Chevy/GM trucks get the best JD Power ratings... When I correct him or inform otherwise he screams "liar"... Yeah, I'm getting a little tired too...

I spend most of my summer hanging around car guys. Most of my friends and relatives are mechanics... I put more faith in what they say then what the auto rags print...or what ever opinion you, Mtbr or Mustang1 have about cars... You're opinion is obviously as biased as you claim mine to be...

Kettle black I say...!!! So please do not preach to me how your views are much more holier and pious then mine...

Do you read what you write? You just demonstrated exactly what I said. In a direct discussion with me, you pull out the crap you got yourself into with OTHER POSTERS.

I don’t give a damn who you work for what you know or don’t know about JD Power although for you being a self confessed "gearhead" I'd expect more from you.

Focus Stemmer. Address the topic at hand and knock off the little girl act when things get tough. You continuously demonstrate a serious preoccupation bordering on obsession about things foreign and the need to “defend ourselves”. That’s why xenophobic or bigoted is one of the first things that come to mind and you do nothing to dispell the opinion.

It's pointless to discuss further with you. It's like banging your head against a wall... However you do not have the right to constantly call me a bigot, xenophobic or a racist.... I take issue with that...

It's a joke. Like your views. It pokes fun at your insistence of relying on anecdotal information instead of independently objective research. Why take you seriously when you cry censor and threaten lawsuits?

You hadn't heard of J.D. Power - that's your problem not mine. In fact, all you do is fall back on silly anecdotal references when pressed to substantiate your rather xenophobic views.

And if you're "getting tired" then take a rest because if you find this taxing, that's sad.

Again, this is where you fall flat on your face. You eschew competent automotive journals, print editorials and market research because it kicks your ignorance in the face. You can rely on whatever anti-intellectual nonsense you want, but each and every time your trot out your Canadian Tire buddies as industry voices, it screams schoolyard silliness.

Mine is based on objective fact. You? Canadian Tire isle 7 guy.

Don't care. You call people here names all the time, so if i choose to take your irrational dislike of foreign products as questionable, I'll do so. I take issue with your insistence of censorship, comrade.

First of all stop banging your head against the wall. It seems the effect is becoming apparent. Secondly, if you would stop being a "bigot, xenophobic or racist", the problem would be resolved.

Tell you what. Put me on ignore (or whatever it is here) and I will continue to point out your behavioural issues and you won't even know it!

Look Stemmer. If you insist on discussing these types of topics, stick to the germane points within the topic and put your wacky agenda “to defend us all” in your back pocket where it can’t be perceived as offensive by anyone.

So then back on topic. Please explain how this Toyota truck rust problem is OK and not a real problem?

Why is it OK for you, Mustang1 and mtbr to post anti domestic stuff but when I post about problems with imports it's not ok?

Mustang1 - how can I take anything you say as serious... When I repeatedly inform you I don't know anyone at Canadian Tire... When you post crap like I never heard of JD Power until you "educated me" is nonsense...

I have yet to see anyone say it’s ok. You quoted some isolated issues and in many cases I would expect the owners have something to do with it. Now you can put up some of the same problems with GM or Ford trucks. They exist too or should we all accept your delusion?

There’s that whiny little girl thing again. You just can’t help yourself, can you?

It’s “anti domestic” if they say it and “anti foreign” when you do.

Time to suck it up buttercup.

I don't post anti-domestic "stuff", i merely provide facts. It's not a judgment call, like styling or favorite exterior colour, its measurable, objective, independently verifiable data. The fact that you can't refute it, only leads you to brand it "anti".

Then refute the Toyota truck rust problem... The problem is factual...!!!! AND they've been having this problem since the 1970's...

AND YES I've heard of JD Power before...Anyone who has seen a GM Truck ad in the last 10 years hears mention of the fact GM trucks get the highest JD Power ratings in their class... "Like a Rock"...
