Not really that surprising. Interesting to see that a company like Mercedes has picked up it's reliability greatly in a short amount of time, compared to the likes of GM.

The problem with Consumer Reports is they deduct the same points for a loose ashtray or a bad transmission... NA cars do not have great trim, fit or finish but their powerplants and drive trains are second to none....

stemmer stemmer: NA cars do not have great trim, fit or finish .... ...and you consider that insignificant? For weeks you've been all over this forum bragging about how "good" the vehicles produced by the big three are and how much better they are than the "ricers"? Do you live with your head up your ass?

spisio spisio: Not really that surprising. Interesting to see that a company like Mercedes has picked up it's reliability greatly in a short amount of time, compared to the likes of GM. That's because Daimler raped Chrysler to invest in Mercedes.

poquas poquas: stemmer stemmer: NA cars do not have great trim, fit or finish .... ...and you consider that insignificant? A loose fitting ashtray or bad fitting trim will not leave me stranded on the highway like a faulty transmission or engine will... AND one of the reasons why domestics are mostly used in the taxi business or by police departments....

I beg to differ with that statement if you're refering to "interior trim packages". Before buying my last truck I checked out both the Toyota Tundra and the Nissan Titan and the interior trim was actually one of the things that made me decide to go with GM. Both foriegn trucks had plasticy looking dashes and trim packages. My Seirra looks like a Cadalac compared to them. This is my interior *(except my truck has the nav unit): and the Tundras: And Nissans:

Nice looking interior...!!!!
I believe the higher end domestics (Cadillacs, Lincolns, Chryslers, Corvettes, Chevys, Mustangs, Shelbys GT40s, F150s, Challengers, etc) are second to no one. It is in the lower lines (compacts, sub compacts) where the domestics fall short...

There's absolutely NO way that a Lincoln (like a MKZ) or the first gen CTS (with its idiot bin in the middle) has anywhere near the fit and finish as an Acura or Lexus. And let's look at the same interior 5 years from now. No contest. Mustangs?!?!? Are you kidding? Compare that to a RSX or Integra. This sounds like another one of your infamous bullcrap sessions as i'll bet you haven't been near an Acura, Lexus or Infiniti. Stick to making up stuff and going to old fart car shows where interiors and reliability mean squat

Sad.
