NATO Nations

Belgium 616
Bulgaria 37
Canada 992
Czech Republic 17
Denmark 122
Estonia 10
France 742
Germany 1816
Greece 171
Hungary 159
Iceland 20
Italy 506
Latvia 9
Lithuania 9
Luxemburg 10
Netherlands 311
Norway 313
Poland 5
Portugal 21
Romania 72
Slovakia 16
Slovenia 27
Spain 551
Turkey 825
United Kingdom 461
United States 89

Turkey has a definate stake in that area of the world and it's good to see them "pulling there weight". I'd wonder that the US numbers sound low so that may just be the "teeth" and not the NGO's or civilian based groups.

Funny how Liberals didn't allow debate and the Conservatives do.

I wonder how often this will need repeating, since clearly this detail was conveniently overlooked:

The Conservatives didn't want to have this debate. They said it would threaten the lives of the troops in Afghanistan. The Bloc and NDP had to coerce them into having this debate.

True they didn't want it yet they did allow it unlike the Liberals.

What's hypocritical of the Liberals is they didn't allow debate when they were in power. When the Liberals were thrown out of power they are all of the sudden are demanding a debate on the Mission in Afghanistan.

Under the oppressive Taliban Regime

Two million Afghans fled the country in hopes of a better future.

Since the US intervention of 2001

These two million Afghans have actually gone back to Afghanistan in hopes of building their country, if you need any further explanation or debate on this issue, then you are distracted by bias.

It's not the Libs who I'm ticked off with but the NDP. They knew and supported the Liberals all through this mission and now that it is politically convienient, they start sniveling.
As that Taliban interview showed that they plan to fight this politically and the NDP are right in line with that.

What do you expect from avowed socialist pacifists?

Run away! Run away!

Nothing's been overlooked. That's common knowledge, and Harper has quite clearly said he's opposed to debate, but has conceded because he accepts that in a minority situation he has to compromise.

So what's your point?

EyeBrock EyeBrock:
You really do need to research these matters before you comment on them.

The US is far from pulling out and leaving us "holding the bag".

Who do you think flies the aeromed evacuation flights from Afghanistan to Germany? The US.

Who do you think built and runs the hospital our guys go to? The US.

Who do you think provides 'in theatre' heli transport, sure as hell isn't Air Command. The US.

Who provides gunship support to our guys in the field? Not Air Command again!
The US.

Who provides close air support and combat air patrols?
Air Command CF18's? Nope, they are fighting the war on terror from CFB Baggotville. It's the US again.

Who provides strategic Air Transport assets to the CF to support our clapped out CC130’s? The US.

The US has 17,000 troops still in Afghanistan. Those troops are set to remain in theatre for the foreseeable future.
Hardly leaving us to hold the bag with 17,000 US troops to our 2500.

This kind of rabid anti-Americanism wrapped in ersatz Canadian Nationalism is truly pointless and patently WRONG.

FB, get informed on these matters, like our media you purport generalism's that are just plain wrong.

I wonder why the Yanks get pissed of at us?
Because we are less than grateful to the assistance we get from them where it matters. On the ground, supporting our troops, helping us in ways that we are unable to help our selves in because we have neglected the Canadian Forces for so long.
