There's an election in the air; it'd take ailing Jack Layton to support the conservatives to stop it. And there is a strategy at hand for the Conservatives. The Conservatives are dancing with majority level in the polls but people just do not trust Stephan Harper. What he could do is have a short list platform, including some basic things like a digital media rights policy that he could do in 36 months. That is be a care keeper government for 36 months only. That'd win a few more seats, he only needs 12. And then we'd see if we like him later. 36 months of regular government

Well, everytime they dance with that majority, they shit the bed. Let's see if they can pull it off this time.

This secret agenda thing still has legs ?

I'd ask what people think he's going to do but all I usually get we don't know it's a secret but it will be really really bad.

If it's that bad people would vote his ass out. That's what happen to Chretien when he left Martin to deal with the sponsor ship scandal.

Nah, I doubt it.

Layton just had hip surgery and is in no shape to go on the campaign trail - that's why he's been making noises that he's willing to deal. If there is an election, it will be because Harper wants it, no matter what he says in public.

The secret agenda is still alive but that's not the main point. Harper cut GST a penny but he had to over look a list of government priorities. Infrastructure for one. The ice rinks in Canada are all over 40 years old and Harper cut the GST. He's a cold fish politically, people just don't buy his bs.

Here's an article that the three main leaders have whipped themselves into an election lather. There's going to be a clash of the "tightens". I can't wait. I'm getting excited. It's going to be awful.

You trusted a Winnipeg news paper?

They're a little behind in Winnipeg, they're not talking about the Alexander Mackenzie election still are they?

They are saying the Liberals and the Opposition are drawing a line in the sand over Conservative party finances, some such. Apparently they want an election.

I dunno ryan. He's ordered decals for the election aircraft.

I'd say this parliament is done and there's gonna be a spring election.

it appears to be headed that way . i'd still think canadians deserve to see the budget at least before this happens and have election about serious issues like economy , or else where headed into a partisan hellish ride for the next month , during which acusations be extreme on each side . if the tories aren't allowed to deliver the budget i can only image what kind of attack ads against ignatieff will come out over this .

Interesting point. Aside from the expensive corporate tax cuts what program cuts are the Conservatives going to bite the bullet on.
