NP was always a right wing rag but even when Conrad was running it they had a thin veneer of respectability much like BNN. You may not agree with the spin but the basic facts could still be gleaned and it was a given that it was representing the industry over all else. NP has tried to mirror fox news and as a result has courted the far right to the point it has given brain worms to their standards and ethics. Their editorial section is overrun by the extremists that would be laughed out of polite company in any other social circle but they are presented here as normal and accepted. So much so that when a heartfelt column by Mansbridge over the passing of his colleague Rex Murphy looks like it is giving the platform some respectability back when it has become the defacto platform of the right that routinely platforms antisemitism, Russian propaganda and climate denial.

The right is rotting under the weight of all the tinfoil hats.

There was a time I subscribed to NP and The Globe and Mail.

It makes me sad how far they have strayed from that level of Journalism.

I look at the online NP daily. Been a really long time since their front page contained anything but editorials disguised as news.
Nothing but anti=Trudeau, anti-Liberal, anti-Canada articles. You wonder why anyone would live here if you believed the BS they feature.
