I've been coming here for a while and have noticed one thing.. the left and right never ever seem to have anything in common. Arctic and Delwin are always bittering against ridenrain and who knows who. Some vote Liberal not matter what, some vote conservative no matter what. When does it end?

We all have people we continually argue with - sometimes it's for political reasons, other times not.

To be fiercely partisan, as are many on this site, is ignorant, in my opinion. Opening yourself to have the chance to consider any argument isn't a bad thing, whether you agree with it in the end (ie, after actually contemplating it) or not.

But seriously....We all do have points we can agree on, but we don't bring those up because then there would be nothing worth talking about here. Most of those things we agree on are well known anyway. When was the last time you seen us fight about abortion, women's rights, medicare system.....the list goes on. We all agree in one way or another on these issues. It's the issue of party policy and the inability for the liberal party to admit Harper is doing a good job....Well that's not true...Just because the liberals supported 90% of what the Conservatives brought forth pretty well says they think the Conservatives are doing a good job. Actions are louder than words.

Interesting. But it's true, some people are far too partisan for their own good.

Does this mean you are no longer holding a grudge against me for repeating what is sometimes said in engineering circles?

I don't know what circles you're referring to. The only grudge I had against you was for calling me a terrorist-supporting fag.

So he revealed who you are, is that such a bad thing? ;)

I find that if we are all talking in a thread like this, we get along. I am quite sure that 90 % of the people on here could sit around a big table with drinks and chat. Minus people like Hwacker, Avro, etc. etc.

8O hehe.

One thing that does bother me personally is how some people on the left end of the scale refer to themselves as 'progressive' almost implying that people on the other end of the spectrum are backward or something of the sorts.

Hmmm. Don't think I referred to you as that directly but more likely in the way you interpreted it. Regardless, seems your still smarting but at least hopefully this clears up things for Confusion.

Actually I agree with a lot of Conservatives' posts and have said so often - at least the ones who express themselves without insults. (Sadly, there are few)
