I get it even if others don't. The problem is the generation x-er's don't get it and aren't taught this in school anymore. Crap.. .they can't even produce kids who can read or write, let alone teach them anything about the history of Canada or the contributions of those who brought Canada to where it is now, at least not in any meaningful way.

Really? Care to demonstrate how the current Ontario curriculum (one that includes mandatory 20th Century Canadian history and Civics) doesn’t “teach” students anything about Canada’s past? I’ll wait, while you fumble with a response.

I had 3 kids in school so don't tell me what they teach and what they don't. Go pick a fight somewhere else.

Translation: “I have no idea what I’m talking about. I shot my mouth off and now someone has called me on it, but I’ve nothing to back up my bullshit.”

Dodge!!! Either you can address the point or crawl back under whatever rock you originated from, but don’t forget: you started this little exchange. Perhaps you should read up a little on what you post lest you appear woefully unaware – too late! Keep trying though.

THEN EXPLAIN THE CURRICULUM!!! You made the claim, now demonstrate its validity. If not, quite crying like a six year old whose been taken out with dodge ball at recess – it’s rather sad. You erroneously wrote, “The problem is the generation x-er's don't get it and aren't taught this in school anymore. You dodged.

You started it. Practice what you preach, hypocrite.

Well Donny, tolerance of other view points isn’t something that obviously appeals to you.
Your version of multicult is “anybody but the British”.

I think the First Nations played a huge role in the development of Canada, from the French and Indian Wars in the 1750’s to the War of 1812 through to the 1st and 2nd World Wars. Tynadaga is a personal hero of mine. It’s a pity you can’t respect my ancestors.

I’d also like you to educate me further and let me know where the incidences of your quote comes from. “The vicious colonialists who slaughtered Indian tribes are portrayed as heroes.”
This is Canada not the US.

A quick search in google reveals a lot of roads, schools and even a hotel in Paris named after Reil. Your arguments appear to be unfounded.

I don’t see anywhere in my posts that I demand new Canadians speak English. I think it’s a good idea that immigrants speak English. It makes integration in to our society much easier. Great to have a vibrant culture but who cares if nobody can understand you at your workplace?

Donny, you need to be more cognizant that Canada did have a culture before multicult came along. The country wasn’t invented in the 1960’s. We need to make sure CANADA's culture is preserved.
I can rattle off numerous examples of BNA heritage being deleted, erased and ignored. But if that’s what Canada wants, so be it. I just won’t let it happen without comment.

PS Stop telling me to leave Canada if I don’t agree with your less than tolerant views. It comes across as racist.

Thanks for telling me what I think.

Actually I said that it's not JUST British, it’s a mixture of everyone including British.

No more or no less then anyone else.

My point is that anyone regardless of their culture can come to Canada and still practice their traditions and language and be proud.

If for some reason that does not please you as a British-Canadian, too bad for you.

Canada's identity is Multiculturalism. If people choose to assimilate that is up to them, they should not be forced to learn your British manners and speak English in front of you just to help make you feel superior.

Donny - you should be thankful that you have the chance to express your opinion because of guys like Eyebrock and I find your commentary rather boorish. You need a swift kick buddy.

Another Brit asserting his "superiority"?

Are you saying you and Eyebrock allow me to express my opinion out of the kindness of your hearts?

Well, thank you very much indeed!!
