I knew that Canada was looking at selling some of its embassys and real estate around the world but didn't think much of it. Then in the paper today I read the article on the Embassy in Ireland for sale.

There seems to be plenty of people on both sides of the pond against it, but I guess if the governemnt is looking to save money, places like this kinda make sense. It does make sense to be closer to the business center and an older estate like this would have a higher upkeep.
As long as they don't even think of selling 'Canada House' in london! There is too much hostory there and it is right in the middle of the city and right by Buckingham Palace. It would be a shame, its not like were pinching for pennies with a 9+ billion dollar surplus.
What do you think of Canada selling some of its more iconic embassys such as the one in Ireland?
