Talked to a buddy of mine who is a recruiter who said that people wanting to apply has INCREASED, even with things heating up in Afghanistan! Maybe the average citizen believes in the mission more than some Liberals and all the NDP!

This means we're getting the people that want to be in the CF because they beleive in it as opposed to the people that just want a regualr pay check and a signing bonus.

That works fine for me! On a side note, popped into release section today and it would seem I will be retiring in Nov 2007, and still don't know what I want to do when I grow up!

I applied for Infantry, I was told I wouldn't here from them till November because the're so flodded with applications.
Yes the 2nd, 3rd, etc. generation canadians support the military actions.

But why would they? They left their country because they were probably asked to join their military. Maybe we should conscript everyone living here that’s how you will find out who is a real Canadian or not. Then they will probably want us to give them a ship back to Lebanon or wherever they came from

Where did you read that in your school textbook? Considering if your Irish decent would you like to see all of Ireland replaced by the English? My comment has truth to it Canada caters too much to immigrants that take advantage of their dual citizenship. Many people who do come here also come to avoid being conscripted from where they came from because I have asked several dozen. I really doubt it if they wouldn't fight for their own country they would fight for ours. I didn't even mention religion not sure why you are putting words in my mouth. I think you are the one who is ignorant considering statistics even show for Canada's diverse ethnic communities they are barley represented in our Armed Forces.
