this is from The Decima Research survey 12/13/2006

$1:
The poll also suggests that the choice of Dion has bolstered Liberal support in Quebec to more than double the support of the Conservatives. That represents a sharp reversal from the election last January.

The new survey showed the Bloc with 45 per cent of voters, the Liberals with 27 per cent and the Tories with 12 per cent. The NDP had six per cent and the Green seven per cent.
linky

So if the Bloc presented a candidate for a senate seat it would probably win.

I know this is a hard concept for you being a Quebecor and all, but that's the beauty of democracy.

(a little off topic too, but oh wel...) is there really a law that says that margarine has to be white in quebec? my g/f went to quebec with katimavik and she keeps telling me about this law that was put in place because butter is yellow.....

Idealy, I think each province should have the same number of Senators. So if each province has 2 senators the bloc could only get 2 seats but I think most of the issues discused would be regional issues, idealy provinces such as PEI and Saskatchewan would get the most out of the senate, but I think the biggest isses would be things like equalisation.

The Candian dairy and Quyebec dairy bords sued the margerine people and lost lost in federal court, I don't think copywright is provincial jurisdiction but I could see that as a consumer law. Thing is though Quebec is basiacally the Wisconsin of Canada...except more English.

Not sure if this is a joke.

It would actually be an improvement from the PQ.

Dumont is pretty good, plus the ADQ does not stand for Quebec separatism. huh!

Well Pimp the PQ need a break and the PLQ reak corruption. Anyway There is a need for a good clean up in Québec.

As for the (autonomiste) position of the ADQ juste imagine how that will work if Dion become PM. Even the PLQ will want another referendum.

Sort of a little off topic, but 51% of all dairy products sold in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, by federal law, must originate in Quebec. This is achieved principally through the sale of cheese, yogurt, ice cream, butter etc while whole milk by virtue of logistics is generally home grown. I believe similar outrageous and outdated colonial type dairy quotas heavily favouring Quebec exist for all other provinces as well including Ontario.

I remember during the last referendum a news reporter was interviewing a Quebec dairy farmer who was voting ‘yes’ but was also convinced that these insane laws favouring the Quebec dairy industry would remain enforceable and his industry would be unaffected.

Another potential profit opportunity awaits a Quebecless Canada. Investors take note.

On some level, I might, (I cannot beleive I might say this).... I might agree with you.

The ADQ might have seem a little extremist left at 1st, but since have more or less centralized. As such, you may have seen previous posts in which I mentioned that I did not disapprove of Mario Dumont.

It could be a likely vote for the next provincial election, which, last night might have seen evident in ``l'assemblée nationale du Québec``.

Another opportunity awaits: Removing the spy talk and reprinting everything from cereal boxes to government pubs in English.
