I'm considering going to RMC after highschool and i was wondering what i could expect out of it in terms of quality of education, atmosphere and student life.
Just wanted to get another description besides what they told me at the recruiting centre and in the brochures.

I was thinking of applying for RMC but now I'm not too sure...

If you're in cadets and you have been to a summer camp, it's basicly like that...except for 4 years...

Another thing, to address student life: You're eating, sleeping, sweating, bleeding, working, and studying with these guys (and girls) that you go to school with at RMC for 4 years. I've made some life-long friends going to summer camp through cadets for a few weeks, but when you graduate from RMC those guys are literally you're family.

My cousin went to RMC and thought it was one of the best experiences of his life. Got his engineering degree, worked as an engineer for the military for five years and got a whack of experience and job offers. I was offered the chance to go to RRMC when it was still a military establishment, but opted for a civilian university. It took me over a year to land a decent job after graduation.

Isn't RMC still controlled by the military? Hence the name Royal Military College? I'm thinking of going to RMC also. I hear they have an OUTSTANDING military history program.

RMC is in Kingston, Ontario. RRMC is in Victoria, BC and is no longer a military university

If you're refering to RRMC, you couldn't have even if you wanted. Royal Roads closed way before your time. Part of the great budget slash of the late 80's early 90's. :( I don't know if DND even controls the buildings/campus anymore.

Royal Roads closed as a military college around '95. And it is still DND property. Just like Stanley Park in Vancouver belongs to DND :)

I was at Royal Roads to go see the gardens just last month - there are some sort of non-military classes being held there, but no military folks in sight except across the way at Esquimalt.

The gardens have suffered seriously since the military left, by the way.

Royal Roads Military College is now Royal Roads University. No military connection except for the ground it stands on.
