As usual, this is just unconfirmed chatter. There are no links nor will there be. What you see is what you get.
So my friend who tells me this shit was away for most of the year and is now back. We had a lovely unclassified discussion and here are some highlights:_______________________________________________________________________________________
The USA pulling out of Syria is being seen by the Russians and Iranians as a disaster because they expected the USA to pay about $400 billion to rebuild the infrastructure in Syria which included money-making oil facilities. Now they're stuck facing off with Turkey and paying to rebuild as much of Syria as they can.
India disappointed Russia by replacing their old Mi-35 gunships with American AH-64 gunships.
China is taking ownership of a key Pakistani rail line for their Belt and Road Initiative. The program involves a near $9 billion upgrade to the railroad and will link Karachi to Peshawar.
A border skirmish took place in July between Vietnamese forces and Chinese forces that had intruded into northwest Vietnam. An unknown number of casualties occurred on both sides.
India's intelligence agencies carried out significant actions against Maoist rebels in the country's eastern districts.
Approximately $8.5bn Euros went missing from Russian accounts in August. The Russians are actively seeking the funds and who took them but are not engaging any international assistance to track down the criminals or their loot.
Members of the Russian parliament are complaining about the direct costs of maintaining control in Crimea and the spiraling costs of the ongoing war in Donbass. Most Russians until recently were unaware of the costs involved in Crimea and Donbass until the matter arose in parliament.
The US Navy, dismayed with the absurd costs of the DDG-1000 destroyers, is resuming orders for updated DDG-51 Arleigh-Burke class destroyers. The plan is to replace the planned 32 DDG-1000 hulls with sixty and possibly seventy DDG-51 hulls.
(
My own thoughts here is that the delays, overruns, and hundreds of deficiencies in the DDG-1000's are causing the Navy to revisit the reliable Arleigh-Burkes.)
The Russians have significantly increased their presence in Libya under the auspices of a consortium called the Wagner Group. The Libyan National Army owns hundreds of Russian armored vehicles and the Russian forces are reportedly repairing and updating these vehicles.
Russia bought $315 million worth of gold from Venezuela in six shipments over 2018 and 2019 according to leaked documents from Russian customs. The Russians paid cash for the gold bars.
Rwanda and Uganda signed semi-joint nuclear power development deals with Russian firm Rosatom. The Central African Republic is considering joining the deal and forming an African power grid.
That is all.
