Our procurement program has always been a gong show but to stop the cold weather tests might mean that one of two things are happening.
1. The gov't is so positive that global warming will strike Canada within the next decade that there's no need for cold weather tests on our military equipment anymore because we'll be a banana republic, literally or:
2. The gov't doesn't want the
single engine F35 to fail because like Doc says, the choice for our new fighter has already been made.
Either way this decision may come back to bite our Air Force in the ass if these billion dollar planes start falling from the sky when patrolling the arctic taking the taxpayers hard earned money with them.
Here's hoping our friendly Finn's do a thorough enough test to show how these things perform in freakin cold weather. Although if they fail I doubt it'll matter to our gov't and Air Force anyway because we've been paying for the development of these jets and as any military man will tell you if it's shiny and new, you've just got to have one to.
