Just to say that we are going back at it.

Infantry Anti-Tank Coy (Weapon System)combined with Armored Regiment.
I saw a very interesting picture today. Anti tank gun crew.
Black Beret (Armored) with PPCLI hat badges.

So if this unit get credits for a specific mission. Who will get the honours LDSH or PPCLI.

B Coy Anti-Tank is back at it after 30 years.

The Strats will. The black-hatter Patricia's belong to the LdSH. If the Patricia's were only attached as opposed to being posted into the Regt (TOS), they'd still be wearing green.

The give away is the black beret.

Tman1: The Leo's are still there.

This is suppose to be part of the new three lines of anti-tank defense that the CDS is going for. The MGS, the TUA, and the new MMEV. All on the LAVIII chassis. From what I've heard the CDS wanted to get rid of the different cap badges and make one cap badge for this new Regt. I'm with 4AD in Gagetown and we were suppose to be posted to the LdSH, but it's been put on hold until 2009-10. The Leopards are still around because the new MGS has been delayed also.

So See my point.

Going back six months, another discussion about a unit getting credit for a specific deployment and not another.

So see my answer. I thought the question was who would get credit.

PDT_Armataz_01_03 Are you refering to the CAR in Cyprus in '74? It is still the CAR for the same reason it would be the LdSH.

Yes,

But it does not means that the 40 PPCLI deployed with them would not be listed as not "Being there". And that the PPCLI would probably not display that as a Unit Greetings.

He's on the rag about the Vandoo's not getting credit during the CAR's Cyprus tour in '74.

I couldn't find any reference to this anywhere and assumed that he was talking about the Vandoos in 1 or 3 Commando (can't remember which). He apparently wasn't and seems to think that the 22nd is being robbed of glory/recognition. My point was that they were members of the CAR and therefore the Vandoo wouldn't get credit.

He'll make another drive-by post. Just don't hold your breath.

If I remember correctly it was in fact some elements of the RCR that were sent into Cyprus in 1974 to reinforce the Airborne Regiment, not the Van Doos.

Is that when the CO told his troops to take off the UN beret and put on their regular beret because they were going to war? I remember my uncle or father telling me that. Something along those lines anyway. My uncle was RCR for 32 years.

Maybe. Their regular beret then would have been the maroon one with a CAR capbadge.

This all depends on whether the photo you saw was a propaganda photo, or a simple lighting problem. Many years ago I watched a DND commercial being shot in Victoia BC. The entire cast was made up of actors. My CO finally got pissed off and sent over some of us to dress them properly...Even took one of the guys over for a haircut.

I shoot photography as a sideline. The light can do funny things to an object. Are you sure the green was just a very dark green to begin with and the film reacted funny to it. I've seen it happen a lot. That's why most photographers love photoshop by Adobe!

Years ago, 1987, when I remustered out of the PPCLI into the Air Force, I was between identities. I wore an air froce cap badge and an army uniform. The military had just changed to DEU and all I had was brown/green in my locker. Since I was no longer PPCLI I was told I could not wear my head dress with the PPCLI badge. I wasn't given a new uniform for close to 3 months and had to wear the bird with the brown short sleeve summer dress shirts. Confused the shit out of everyone.
