What a well thought-out plan!!!!!

This is one from NHL Hall of Fame broadcaster Jiggs McDonald in Orillia .

I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against another mosque being built in Toronto.

I think it should be the goal of every Canadian to be tolerant regardless of their religious beliefs. Thus the mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance. That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque, thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque.

We could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, "The Turban Cowboy ", and the other a topless bar called "You Mecca Me Hot." Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an open-pit barbeque pork restaurant, called " Iraq o' Ribs."

Across the street there could be a lingerie store called " Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret "; with sexy mannequins in the window modelling the goods. Next door to the lingerie shop there would be room for an adult sex toy shop, "Koranal Knowledge ",it’s name in flashing neon lights and on the other side a liquor store called "Morehammered."

All of this would encourage Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us, so their mosque issue would not be a problem for others.

If you agree with promoting tolerance, and you think this is a good plan, please pass it on...

great. Let's do the same to an orthodox schul, and have gay clubs called Gay Jesus' Place around all the fundie christian churches as well. let's really spread that tolerance around. Promote peace camps around all military bases as well.

Just a quick note because I noticed this little "gem" has been making the rounds again in light of the Boston bombings. Not sure why Jiggs is getting credit for this "joke" but he never actually said it. For some reason, it makes the rounds occasionally in emails and in blog posts as being attributable to him. But he never said it. If you google it, you'll find lots of people using it with no source mentioned, and some say it came from the "UK Daily Mail" from a letter to the editor. Nevertheless, it wasn't authored by Jiggs, nor did he distribute it. Not sure why the original author doesn't lay claim to it. But maybe he too knows how "lame" it is!

I was posted to one in the early 80's that had a supposedly "permanent" peace camp 25 feet from the front gate whose peaceniks tried to harassed us every morning when we went to work. Calling us names, and making rude gestures etc.

So it's not a stretch to think that it happens or has happened. Strange thing though. As soon as the Soviet Union crashed and burned their funding from a notorious "peace" organization based in Helsinki disappeared so they had to sell their big house on the Bay disband their camp and find other things to occupy their days.

I guess given today's criteria we were pretty tolerant.

I saw this and I couldn't believe that guy. Maher wasn't even asking about Muslims at that point, but this guy had to do the full defense spiel. I can see doing the spiel when you get people like Bart or Martin doing the all Muslims are bad thing, but to deny that Muslims are way at the top of the charts for terrorism right now is just nuts. You hear mass killing you think either American nutbar or jihadis. One shooter, probably non-Muslim American nutbar, explosions or multiple shooters, probably jihadis.

Well, we'd have to refine it by what country we're talking about. Ie Canadian nutbar, Finnish nutbar. Jihadis are jihadis. But really, neither the US nor Canada has had to deal with a lot of Muslim terrorism. Way more nutbars.

Seems to me that about 12 years ago the Muslims collected in the US the same death toll in a few hours that it took the whackos in the Klan about a hundred years to accumulate. Apples vs oranges, or whut?
