I tried to read the other thread but got confused. I thought I'd mention that after about 18 years the treasure hunt is about to begin again.

The Oak Island Tours Inc, a group from Michigan and Dan Blankenship finally received their Treasure trove License from the Nova Scotia government.

It is expected the search will start soon, within 2 weeks.

Will they find anything? Opinions vary, yes I do believe work was done on the Island, but if anything still remains or if it already taken hopefully will be answered.

Ask the Oakster Dan Brown club! They're intrigued and know nothing too!

Seriously, read Keithy Baby's blog and strap yourself in for some bad Indiana Jones crossed with pulp Clive Cussler. Enjoy

i will try to find this keithy babys blog.

i did find one blog full of charts and graphs but i didnt know why i was supposed to be looking at them...the writing was full of run ons and grammatical errors so I gave up.

as for the oak island mystery, i just heard the words "oak island mystery" and wondered what the mystery was.

now i see it may or may not have to do with the bermuda triangle and or the tomb of christ and or the city of atlantis...are these the popular theories?

so my question is what kind of crazy things happen there to qualify it as a mystery? And secondly, being as i am unluckily not Canadian, i don't know the basic history or the most popular theories.

so i know nothing and am curious cuz it sounds fascinating...

i just did and i read about 5 articles. now i see that most people think it is a treasure. i liked the possibility that it may be some sort of ammunitions dump.

if it was designed to hide something you think the engineers would have designed a way to bring it back...like a poisons antidote.

hm, i am continuing to read.

i think it is interesting that the professor who claims to have cracked the code translated it as it were written in english

i like this mystery

Hold the phone, there's a profesor who claims to have cracked the code? I hope you don't mean Keith "my-ideas-come-from-bathroom-stall-walls" Ranville, do you?

Steven Sora wrote an interesting book about Oak Island...

http://www.templartreasure.com/lost_treasure.html

Lionel Fanthorpe is an author of 200+ books on mythology & folklore and has written a book or two on Oak Island....

And William Crooker who lived in my neighbourhood (passed away a couple years) also wrote a book on Oak Island...(as well as "Pirates of the North Atlantic"),....

I live in Nova Scotia and have been to Oak Island (when it was open to the public)... A friend of mine lives in Chester and is a manager of the local RDA (Regional Development Agency) and he believes there is something there but not too sure exactly what it is...

Some photos of Oak Island from Sora's site....
