i see a lot of canada kicks ass, we're better than the us... But in what direction would you like to see our country go. Also, we compare ourselves too much with the states. I say we should compare ourselves with the best in the world. Norway has a GDP per capita of around 42 000 or 37000 at PPP. Lets aim for that instead of the us's. Lets find out who has the best health care and see if we can do a similar thing...

Military- bigger sronger faster
Aboriginal Treaties - phased out
Trade- less with the US, 80% of our trade is with them, piss them off and we're dead.

Too lazy to elaborate on the above topics.

Get rid of the country within a country so things like this stop happening:

Anglo says he never stood a chance in Quebec court

It is just the tip of the iceberg. Enough is enough.

See!! Thats the shit that pisses me off! Give them an Inch and they take a kilometer!!! I think they are tring to make too much of a point of being french. If they want to speak french fine. But when they try to phase out english in a province that is supposed to be bilingual then there is a problem.

Call me insensitive but i'd get rid of all the f*ckin seniors - these people clog our roads, cause accidents, complain about nothing, and live off of us. I can't stand old f*ckin bitter, slow, grumpy people. 0 tolerance...and i don't care! (sorry, had 1 too many bad experiences with them lately and i am a little...ur...frustrated i guess).

Hottie I am rather dissapointed in your statement about seniors. We are all going to be seniors at some point in our lifes. I am only six yrs away from that. Young people should listen to seniors they have a wealth of knowledge that young people should learn.
I however do agree with with one thing some seniors should not be driving. But that doesnt mean the majority of them are bad. I have seen a lot of younger drivers and they are absolutely terrible drivers.
Yesterday I had a great talk with a senior while waiting for a bus. Some of them are lonely and just want someone to talk to. I wont turn my back on them for sure. like that saying "thank a vet " well " thank a senior" because I bet ya he/she was a vet.
But I still think you are cute :)

First of all I'd like to see all the Trudeau era programs scrapped outright with a few exceptions such as the Katimavik program. I'd like to see a greater sense of national pride and purpose among Canadians and one that does not include being unlike a certain neighbouring nation at all costs. I'd like to see the end of the Monarchy and the institution of a Representitive Republic and with it either a new constitution or a return to the British common law model.

I'd like to see a credible military that is again focussed towards defending our borders and direct interests and is not fettered away on endless U.N. peacekeeping missions. I'd like to see immigration reigned in and an end to the government sponsored concept of multicultualism as we know it in favor of one where integration is encouraged.

I'd like to see our current health care system phased out in favor of a public/private hybrid system on the French model which I believe was recently voted number 1 in the world by the WHO.

I'd like to see an end to the kind of semi officially encouraged anti Americanism I see nearly at all times in this country. I'd like to see Native and Quebec programs drawn down and eventually eliminated. I'd like to see a focus on economic development and also on infrastructure. Lastly I'd like to see the national Capitol moved from Ottawa to the basic center of the country in Winnipeg.

Shouldn't they move the capital to Thompson, Rosco? It's closer to the middle of the country and spending an afternoon sitting in Trapper's Tavern waiting for the wind to die down so they could catch a plane would give the politicians a much-needed dose of reality.

Maybe somewhere isolated and nasty like Churchill Manitoba be best?

Oh, and to add to my above list, I'd like to see a move back to the pre '65 flag as the current one has become synonamous with mediocrity to my mind.

Rosco, I'm with you on almost everyhting except moving the capital to Winnipeg - too expensive.

I would also investigate the Aussie model of post-secondary education. The schooling is no cost up front, but then you make mandatory repayments once you have a job. Encourages people to attend university and to do well once there, and gets rid of people defaulting on loans, etc.

Uh, the same people that are running the country now. S-e-n-i-o-r-s - as in retired people (ie. 80yr olds) ...they no longer work...uh...so i hope they're no longer running the country. And they can't hear a word that we "mouthy young people" say, nor see us, nor realize that we exist, so i don't think they care too much.

Blubs - i get what your saying. I understand my statement was a bit harsh but try living in a retirement community and working a job where you deal with seniors day in and day out - then report back to me. I still think you're cute too  (no hard feelings ?)

If that's what you do and you don't like it, then why do you continue to do it?

You're not one of those people I saw on TV the other night who work in old age homes and who abuse the tenants are you? You seem angry enough to be.
