I like this design, even though I have no idea what the old on looked like.

Well I caved to the requests from many of you, you non gold members

I have moved the recent forum posts to the top right of the page. In doing so the large square add is now below and lower on the page. So i need some advertising near the top of the site. So I added the large horizontal add to the top of the site with the CKA feature images beside it. This is only displayed to guests or if your not logged in.

When logged in the banner there is gone and is at the bottom of the site.

The front-page is becoming pretty dynamic, diffeerent views for different levels of visitor.

I also did a bunch of tweaking to the code, to make everything look proper in IE & firefox, also looks fine in Opera.

I added around 14 quotes or sayings to the random quote display.

The PM popup code is also fixed, so the new pm popup window should again work anywhere on the site.

I am going away for the weekend, so might not get around to adding more header graphics and redoing the menu. But next week I will, as well as figuring out something with the news links.

Trev, thanks for all your work.

Things I like:
-News items up at the top.
-Thumbprint photos for commented pics
-The fact that you have now moved the "latest topics" box up to the top right of the page
-Snug cosy fit
-Message inbox at top of page

Things I don't like:
-Link that used to be at the bottom of the latest topics box, which took me to all the recent threads, not just the last 10. Now if I want to find a thread that came up yesterday or even a few hours ago, I can only get there by going into a thread that I don't care about and then going into "Canadian Forum Index" at the top of the page.

-The latest topics only has 8 threads instead of 10. I'd prefer if it was 15 (but I know we had that discussion a few months ago, and possibly decided against.) This is particularly annoying on days like today when almost all 8 are filled up with "Babes" postings which don't interest me much, and it's a nuisance to get to see the other threads.

-It's too wide. I need to scroll left and right, or widen the window which means that I can't see if my work emails are coming through or not...

-And just for the hell of it... I'd like a bit more stronger colours on the home page, maybe darker blue borders or something... Just a bit less whiteness would be nice.

But overall, I do have to say that when it comes to the actual discussion threads, this site really does kick visual ass. Not having been on other discussion forums, when I occasionally see them I realise how beautifully done this site is, and am really appreciative. Great work, thanks Trev!

I didn't realize people used the front page so much.... I have a direct link to the forums in my 'Favourites', and the only time I go to the front page is when I rarely check the news (explains why I didn't understand why you designed the cka headers with the half text, Canadaka - I thought you were talking about the forum headers.)

Of course, yesterday I checked the news once and found that people have been posting fake articles in my name, so maybe it's best that I stay off that page

OK I have now found that there's links to "Forums" and "Blogs" at the top of the page, which takes me to the forums list, so I guess I'll use that. I think I tried it the other day and it didn't work, which is why I was lost.

MissT, between the top graphic and that red leaf on the left, there's a bar that has
"| Home | Forums| Content | Gallery |..."

Why not just use that?

I have added a system to control which blocks are loaded in each different section/module of the site.

So now each section of the site will have different combination of blocks on the right. I have also created some new blocks, and will make more. Like a famous Canadians block to display 7 random people.



I re-made the main main, added many more links since they were missing. There is now sub-sub menus that popout to the right. I still need to do some work on the menu, some minor problems.

it only shows up on the front page ...just to the right of the header images over the radio button about half the distance to the top of the banner here I made you a screenshot

thats really strange... I don't see it in IE7 or Firefox on my computer.
I took a screenshot and zoomed in, nothing there.

Is it only on that CAF header, or all of them?
