The USA has the lowest level of global awareness of any country in the world.

... I would like to take this moment in time to disown my newly adopted country.

It's true.

Seventy years of liberalism infecting our schools has left the average American under the age of 30 unable to perform simple addition and subtraction without a calculator. Expecting them to grasp global affairs is not at all rational.

I use to shop at the QT at the corner, and the girl running the cash always asked me; "how much change should I give you now." 8O

I'm serious.

However, I was even more shocked when I went to the local bigway here in Crossfield, Alberta and got hit with pretty much the same question.

Kids coming out of school these days can't even count back change. It's really sad how uneducated our youth is.

It isn't only America for that. At the theater I work at, we count everything at the end of the night. And normally stuff doesn't go above 50ish (except for popcorn bags and cups, but those are in easy intervals). But the morons I work with can't add them. They needed me to add stuff like 18 and 14. No lie. They couldn't do it without a calculator. Same with my math class, it was a simple adding this (something like 70 +25) and the person couldn't do it. I took their calculator away until they figured it out.

8O

I thought that was just a fun stereotype...

That video reminds me of this guy who went around America asking which country should be bombed next and asked them to put a pin in that country (the guy was holding a Map Billboard, but it didn't have names over the countries) Some put a pin in Canada. Not purposely though, they didn't kno wit was Canada, ROTFL I couldn't stop laughing. People can be SOOO STUPID. :P

In North Bay On, I was in uniform, had a girl in a gas station ask me if I worked on the aircraft carriers in Lake Nipissing. Don't know where to start there.

Girlfreind a few years back, thought I was American because I came from Alberta.

Would love to see some guy do this in Canada, I saw on person when asked "what is Vimy Ridge", answer "a chocolate bar"....

I feel the overuse of the calculator in Math classes is dumbing the fuck out of the future of this planet (These twits are our future).

Like I said... I'm scared for the World.....

Well Sir. As part as customer service, you count back the change to the customer.

If they give you $20 and the change is $14.50

First off you let them know they have $14.50 change coming back.

Then you count it up into their hand so they know they are getting the correct amount.

You should also leave the $20 bill on the cash register drawer, until the transaction is complete.

This is good for customer service, and protects you from the customer coming back and saying you gave the incorrect amount, or that he gave you a $50 or $100.

I use to be an assistance manager of a Chevron Gas station and convenience store years ago.
