Walkoot Walkoot:
Still a year later and few discussions about our *issues*. Life In Canada is like Ground hog day - every year is the same it seems except more Muslims are brought over. It is incredible how little Canadians want to discuss and solve our problems.

Anyway, the cold snap in Toronto is exposing how the city truly treats its homeless. Also exposes the reality of the non existent social programs.. especially for whites.

You want whites-only social programs or something?

Luckily some charities have stepped up during the cold snap:

Muslim charity hands out winter clothes to Montreal's homeless

They say the low temperatures put the lives of homeless people in danger.

With an extreme cold warning in effect in many regions of Quebec, a Muslim charity program is distributing winter clothes to homeless people in Montreal and Quebec City.

Islamic Relief Canada, whose mission is to provide emergency relief to communities hit by disasters, assessed the low temperatures put the lives of homeless people in danger.

It’s the first time the charity has conducted an aid operation in the country, spokesperson Nora Shamroukh said in an interview with Presse Canadienne.

A group from Islamic Relief Canada served more than 600 people on Sunday in the cafeteria of the Mission’s Webster Pavilion, said Melissa Bellerose, director of communications and public affairs at the Old Brewery Mission. They brought about 50 hygiene kits, featuring such items as razors and shampoo.

The organization plans to return to distribute 500 “winter kits.” Their contents will be adapted to the needs of homeless people and will include things like winter coats, boots, hooded sweatshirts, thermal underwear, scarves and gloves.

The Centre culturel islamique du Québec, the mosque that was attacked close to a year ago, will coordinate the operation in Quebec City.

I would say that Canadians are very friendly and calm people. At least from the experience I've had [B-o]

We have two extremes. Those who are wannabe Americans and those who define themselves as Canadians solely by disliking all things American. Both groups are equally reprehensible. Really we shouldn't care about how Americans see us.

There are plenty of great people in the States and there are major assholes, the same as everywhere else in the world. We shouldn't let the extremes define a whole society, as they are a small minority.

This is the Internet. It's a fantasy world where you let it out, we don't actually behave that way.
Like "road rage" driving a car, when the guy in front of you does something stupid we all curse and rant in the privacy of our car. The odd one gets out and starts flailing on the car or assaulting the driver and the other 99% of us cheer when the cops handcuff the asshole and take him away.

Difficult in these dark times when, particularly in the case of the Americans, the extreme assholes managed to first capture an entire political party, then rigged the Congress so they'd never lose, and now have possession of the White House. It's difficult not to be judgmental of the whole nation when the apparatus of power is now under the firm control of greedy & malicious maniacs, and apparently with the full approval & support of a very large minority of the overall population.

I'm fifty, worked for years with Maritimers and backwoods Ontario guys, and not once in my life have ever heard a single Canadian say anything as ridiculous "noo doot aboot it". I put that kind of stupidity down as a bad joke that hack comedians do or, far more likely, something some really lame internet troll would say to get a rise out of people.
