RUEZ RUEZ: I'll put this question to all the Canadians that come to this site. Were you under the impression that the Netherlands had a deep respect and admiration for Canada due to our actions during World War Two? Yeah because I was told they had by , well the government I guess. They keep telling us they send tulips every year ....yay Really I don't care if they don't. What matters here is that we remember the sacrafices of our own ....Its not up to anyone else but us and you can't expect it to. Tho I'm not surprised that holland doesn't, hell do are kids ? Really they can't understand a few years ago there was no Nintendo. Things change

RUEZ RUEZ: Brenda Brenda: RUEZ RUEZ: *In daily life, nobody gives a shit about Canada. Like you don't give a shit about Holland.* Had they liberated Canada I would give a shit about them. Yeah, sure, that is easy to say. Assumption. Hell no, you see all these Canadians here that remember what happened in a foreign country? Just imagine the response you'd get if we were the liberated instead of the liberator. Well, and there comes "the Canadian" again. Obviously they have a bigger sense of respect for what they did than the receivers. Of course the government cares, but like I said Holland doesn't have stat holidays connected to the war. No special day, just the 2 minutes of silence on May 4th 8 pm, and a parade (or march, or how you will call it) for the elderly (with Canadian ex-soldiers, if they are still alive)on May 5th, but that is NOT a day off for "normal people". That is IT. Canadians remember more, do more, respect more about the war than Holland and especially its people does. You could say... Holland moved on...

Moved on or forgetting history. Two sides of the same coin. We learn it in history class at school. If those classes are not replaced for history classes about Morroco or Turkey Just remember... I never said it was a good thing. I didn't get my ass out of that country for nothing.

I'm just saying that I'm sure many Canadians, Americans, and probably British would see it as forgetting history, and the demographics change in Europe is sad too...hey maybe in 100 years us Canadians and Americans will be called upon to recolonize Europe lol

Once, about 300-400 years ago, Holland ruled the world, economically. Today, you have to look for it to find it, you have to be interested to know about it. Holland has a looooong history and a huge culture, and all we are known for, is dikes, tulips, prostitution and drugs... Now how sad is that?

Holland is also now known for coddling radical, murderous muslims. Not trying to be "in your face", but just illustrating how sad it is that a people whose name once evoked fear and respect in the world now bend before the savages they used to keep at bay. And Canada and the USA are not far behind Holland in the race to the bottom.

commanderkai commanderkai: I love how anti-American morons start taking massive stereotypes and pretend its actually the United States of America. YEAH, I READ IT...... me of Celebrity Jeopardy, and to quote Burt Reynolds "Yeah, that's right. Turd Ferguson. It's a funny name." Wow man, take a pill.

Brenda Brenda: That is true, CanAM... Whenever I mentioned Canada is not that important to Europe, I got a shitload of angry comments thrown at me. But hell, it is the truth! Canada is Canada, and beautiful. The US is the US and beautiful... Canadians are patriotic people (at least, a lot of them ) and rightfully so. But geesh, why care that another country's people DON'T think another country is that great? Canada is important to Canadians, like the US is important to Americans. You guys (Canadians) don't give a shit about Holland either, why should Holland think Canada is all that? Who cares anyway? Be proud of what and who you are, without talking down to, or looking down at other countries. THat is just not necessary to show your patriotism. Just my $ .02 Excellent points. However, I do like the cheese

Brenda Brenda:
Believe me, in daily life, people don't think about Canada.
I understand what you are saying Brenda. Like I don't think about Manitoba all the time, although I dearly love the place. In fact, I don't think about my Mother all the time either, as she died a number of years ago. Does not change my feelings though.
