Yeah, a lot of people in america want to improve their financial status. Why is that so bad?
As do Canadians by and large. Finding an acceptable balance in life is the challenge that faces us all. "The pursuit of happiness" is different things to different people at different times in their lives. What I wanted at 25 isn't the same as is important to me now at 45. The trick is realizing that what's important now isn't likely going to be the same thing that's important to you 20 years from now. Bottom line, enjoy life on the first go around; there's no guarantees that there's a second kick at the cat.

I think a lot of times the people on this forum overstate the differences between canadians and americans. I mean, it seems like some of you take one trip to NYC in your life and then come on this forum and state "canadians are a lot more laid back than americans". Well duh, NYC is the most anal city in the world, come to parts of the midwest or southwest and you can't get much more laid back.
As an old fart, I'd say that historically there's been less difference betwixt Canadians and Americans than those in charge of either country would prefer to have us believe. Your bigshots would have you believe that we're a hotbed of Islamic fundamentalism while many here would have us believe tht GWB is truly representative of the heart of the States. I don't bvelieve either for a moment. But then again, as an old fart, I have nothing to prove by stepping up to the line to go toe-to-toe either. Life's too short to be taken too seriously. Carpe diem and all that.
