In these days of global economy and multinationalism a country like the US had the perfect chance to lead the world by using the UN in the proper manner to get what they wanted in Iraq.
In these days of global economy and multinationalism, an organization like the UN had the perfect chance to re-establish itself as a relevant force for good in the world. Instead, it opposed the liberation of Iraq and the US-led coalition, and its credibility is now zero.
The UN is a disgrace. If it doesn't die of attrition, the endless scandals will kill it.

The Un... hahahahahaha stop it, i'm going to piss my pants.
Once again another misinformed Canadian
The relativity of the UN is definitely up for debate. The fact remains, though, that the US was still and is a member of the UN. My problem is that as soon as the UN did not placate the American demands to "liberate" iraq (laff) for lack of evidence or reason, the US turned tail and showed the world that if you dont agree with the standards, policies and programs in place (to prevent this type of unilateral action) you can grab a few countries (Estonia?) and decide the fate of the world... Ya ya ya there are more countries than just Estonia, but my point is that who are the Americans to police the world? The policies of the body (UN) put in place to deal with this sort of thing are what need to be dealt with first.
