*Takes out popcorn and awaits the myriad and inevitable responses that will follow* "Munch, munch, munch"
By the way, very funny article.

That would explain why all of our entertainers go through extensive espionage training before taking up residence in the states. Hollywood has a fifth column ready for the word from Ottawa.

Lol yes Canada will now own Quebec. Hmm I wonder if the UK would help us if there was a war now. If America atacked us now we would probably have more than just the UK on our side.

Phew, I thought that this was a new subject, and that somehow, someone had learned about my two operations: Operation Red Shield, and Operation Arctic Fury.

Yeah, but it would be possible with a little money and preparation.

Unfournately for us our allies wouldn't get much help in before we were blocked by the USN. But we'ed still win of course, america has a very weak heart for casualties, especially when they keep comming
I expect the question of withdrawl will come after 3,000 dead?
asnd then we get
shits and giggles,
and alaska( mayby but it'll just vote tory)

I'm not sure you could count on the UK to side with Canada over the US old chum.

Well, tell that to the CF in Afghanistan. US and Dutch choppers support them, US military hospitals tend our sick and rented aircraft supply our guys.
Not really that 'go-it' alone yet Ziggy. Thanks to 10 years of Liberal neglect.

I was referring to an attitude I think Canadians have and maybe it's prevalent more at home then overseas, not many will ask for help.Call it pride or whatever.

If things were so bad that the US was going to invade Canada (say the Quebecers had carried off a successful coup) then I can't see the UK opposing a US invasion. At worst, they'd sit it out. Ideally, we'd let them lead the way and support a Commonwealth coalition going in to restore order and then we'd also let them lead the way on restoring the government.

It's a very hypothetical thread anyway. I just think that the links between the UK and Canada are very tenuous at best these says. Canada has embarked on a wholesale effort to rid itself of its links to the UK and the Crown, and this attitude is well known in the UK.
The US on the other hand has been the strongest ally, supporter and investor in the UK for decades now. I still remember all the behind-the-scenes help the Yanks gave us in the Falklands War.
I wish things were different with the UK-Canada relations as I love this country, but for those of you who think that years of dissing the Queen and removing links to the UK have gone un-noticed, think again.
