BartSimpson BartSimpson:
MacDonaill MacDonaill:
Can you think of a more monstrous, overblown, meddling, dangerous governement than that of the US?

Nothing personal here, okay? But it's ironic that I hear plenty of Canadians express essentially this same sentiment and barely any of you bat an eye at that.

But let an American say the same thing and most Canadians immediately jump to the conclusion that whoever it is saying it is a right-wing extremist or something to that effect.

I don't think this actually has anything to do with whether one is either Canadian or American. It's the conclusion one draws from that sentiment that counts. If one says the US government is out of control and hence, it should be destroyed by overt rebellion, then that would come off as bat shit crazy no matter who suggested it, be he Canadian or American or Mexican for all I care.

BartSimpson BartSimpson:
HyperionTheEvil HyperionTheEvil:
When i think of the US these days on how 'christian' they are i think of the 10's of millions of people in that county who have no health insurance and how many people die because they cant afford proper medical treatment because their bank balance indicates it's better that they die than you have a government run health care system because....well because it would be "socialist".

Fyodor Dostoevsky Fyodor Dostoevsky:
In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, "Make us your slaves, but feed us”.

Goverment operated Health care.
Government controlled railroads; Failed
" " medicare; Failed
" " medicaid Failed
" " Social Security
To name a few.
Not a stellar record of success.

I find Americans, on the whole, VERY provincial (with the exception of New Yorkers).
