I have a guy from another forum claiming to be somethings he`s not ( US Navy super hero) he`s been caught in lies, and still claims to be this super hero.

Need someone with first hand experience with US Navy.

1Peg 1Peg:

I'm a USMC non-super hero (I know some super-heroes, though) but I can always assist. If someone is seriously misrepresenting themselves publicly then if they are actually serving then charges can be preferred. If they are *not* serving then we can find that out pretty quick, too.

I once had a guy tell me that he got his experience as a fireman doing fire control in the Navy  so I can relate to the amount of BS out there.

The most common "Navy" lie I see running around are people claiming to be SEALs and it's amazingly easy to trip them up by asking some very simple questions that each and every SEAL team member will know the answer to. If your guy is claiming to be a SEAL I will be happy to provide you with a few of those verification questions on pm.

Claiming to be a hero is enough to chalenge him... Real heros down play their actions. They (almost) always claim anybody else put in the same situation would have done the same.

What his story anyway...

Former Navy (Airplanes not ships...)... here...

Without knowing your situation.... I can tell you that the U.S. military is vast, includes all kinds of people. Most folks just do their jobs everyday... not too many heros.

However, some find themselves in extraordinary situations. And, some folks deal with things that are a little off the radar screen.

Most are not comfortable with hero talk for a lot of reasons. I have talked to a Silver Star recipient from WWII and frankly he wanted to forget more than talk about it.

My father survived a kamakazi sinking his ship and it was very difficult to get details from him.

Had a chat with a former Navy Seal a couple of years ago... no hero talk from him, although I think he was a hero.

Looking back, the most oddball folks I have met are people claiming roles in military intelligence. Maybe they go a little nuts because normally they can't talk about their stuff, although I have gotten an ear full.
