Moore fears seizure, hides movie in Canada

This is probably no more then grandstanding or a publicity stunt still, the US government has been a bit over the top in the rules governing its citizens in relation to Cuba and I can see the possibility of this being a real concern.

What do you think?

I think if this picture is any indication, Mr. Moore is going to need that fine medical system in Cuba.
Image

Seriously, in this day & age of media, does he want us to believe that he only has this one roll of film? That the powers of darkness and evil would swoop down and sieze it and prevent it from being shown?
Can you say pitiful PR campaign?

They'll let him show it. They'll see it, and if there's anything bad, the'll sue his fat ass off 3 years down the road.

It's a publicity stunt. Bush has more to worry about than this fat blowhard.

Moore is nothing more than a Goebels style anti-american propagandist.

As already observed, Moore is overdue for a cardio-vascular accident and then the conspiracy nuts will declare it an assasination.

If one used his methodilogy on Moore himself, a credible case could be made that he is funded by AL Qaeda.

Not really. Americans can travel there as students, teachers, journalists, and a few other categories but with government permission. And then they're only allowed to spend a certain amount of money while there.

The US has not had diplomatic or trade relations with Cuba since Castro seized American owned property without any compensation and Castro also dismissed Cuba's foreign debt. Considering that Cuba is a Communist nation that is overtly hostile to the USA we've elected not to support them with trade and tourism and their seizure of American assets and dismissal of debt is a valid excuse to sanction them.

Besides, if Communism is so wonderful, why do they need the capitalist USA anyhow? 8)

What do you have to fear from Moore?

Moore's targets (guns, Bush, cigarettes, etc) only have to fear him if his allegations are true and rational.

If they're not, then the people who should be most upset with Moore are those who share his positions, but actually have reasonable cause to.

Like Nietzsche said, "the most perfidious way of harming a cause consists of defending it deliberately with faulty arguments."

Moore does more harm than good to the causes he supposedly champions.

The problem is that it's not truth and rationality which convinces the type of people who go to the movie theatre for political commentary.

That's why people watch Loose Change, but never really bother to read the actual government documents they claim to refute. If typical citizen Joe does in fact attempt to refute Loose Change, though, it's usually because they read the Popular Science article....

I don't fear him, I just don't like him. He's a fat, lying, arrogant, bloviating, sack of poop. By his own admission his films are not documentaries but propaganda pieces that are meant to sway public opinion to his point of view. He is no better than Joseph Goebbels.

The world has enough problems without this moron manufacturing problems to enrich himself.

$1:
Michael Moore denounces oil and defense contractors as war profiteers. He also claims to have no stock portfolio, yet he owns shares in Halliburton, Boeing, and Honeywell and does his postproduction film work in Canada to avoid paying union wages in the United States.

Oh, yes, he's a hypocrite.

It is in the tourist areas they set up for people. :) Most people who visit Cuba are not going into the hinterland of the country. If you do you have to carry your passport at all times and get constantly stopped wherever you go for your papers.
