Rev, you betray your inward-looking bias.

You are trying to put words in mouth. Here is what I said:

Look at it another way...CBC is the most accessed web site in Canada (maybe even North America but that may have changed).

"CBC is the most accessed web site in Canada." Hmmm...that's pretty damned clear. In the past they were the most accessed in North America. It made the news...including the CTV news. I doubted that was still the case so I put it in brackets.

$1:
I think Moore's work is being promoted as a legitimate documentary

It is a legitimate documentary, it just isn't journalism.

$1:
when in reality this movie should be interpreted with a heavy dose of salt along with their popcorn...and that I don't think people know it.

If people don't understand that, aren't capable of enough critical thought to not trust everything they hear, then this world is in a lot of trouble.

Stratocaster Stratocaster:

.. snip ..

Heatsink, that's all I'm trying to get across - I think Moore's work is being promoted as a legitimate documentary (read almost any of the reviews - these guys sure believe it: www.rottentomatoes.com), when in reality this movie should be interpreted with a heavy dose of salt along with their popcorn...and that I don't think people know it.

Agrred - that's the problem - people think it's news. Is that Moore's fault? Undoubtably some, but I still maintain that it's up to the individual to critically assess what they believe.

I prefer to think of Moore's works as 'docu-dramas' rather than documentaries and it would be nice if they would be promoted that way.

Is it Moore's fault? He has clearly stated that he never went to college...that he dropped out on the first day because he couldn;t find a parking spot. He has also made it very clear that he became a film-maker more or less as a lark.

It isn;t like he's going around claiming that he's a journalist.

I know, eh? Man...he makes me laugh. I like him and I like what he does, but I'm well aware that using him a source for anything could be suicidal. I enjoy his work as, as I said above, docu-dramas :)
