What's the fourth picture from Bart? I recognise the first three.

I believe the 4th is of the Iran Hostage crisis in 79.

Bingo! R=UP

And wasn't it a bunch of Canadians who saved them? :P

Nope, those people were saved when Ronald Reagan was interviewed by Newsweek after he won the November 1980 election and was asked what his first order of business would be after he was sworn in. He said to the effect that he was going to call a joint session of Congress to ask for a declaration of war against Iran.
I personally knew his former press secretary, Lyn Nofziger, who had told me that Reagan wasn't kidding about this. Andrey Gromyko, the Soviet foreign secretary, had delivered to the Carter Administration a diplomatic note from the Soviets that encouraged an attack on Iran and Reagan was prepared to run with it. It was not going to be an invasion, but a nasty bombing campaign to reduce Iranian infrastructure.

The Iranians released the hostages pictured approximately ten minutes before Reagan was inaugurated.

There were several other American diplomats who escaped Iran under Canadian passports and there were also several more Americans who escaped Iran when Ross Perot personally went there to rescue them.

Canada is the most paranoid country in the Universe. They are overly worried about not being Americans.

Nope, the US is the most paranoid. Scared of everything--just watch Fox news or CNN. There's always an "attack" on something in the US. Oh no! Immigration! Oh no! Terrorism! Oh no! Gays! Scary *roll eyes* Whole country is run by fear, sad really considering that it was an American who said there's nothing to fear but fear itself.
