I can only guess that talk of annexation is even dreamed of because there is a perception that Canada is unstable and the perception that B.C./Alberta seem very culturally American.
- Canadian stability is in the security interest of the U.S.. We would, in fact, keep Canada together if we had to use duct tape.
- Canada simply has a unique charm that I want to preserve.
- The United States is too big already. In Washington State... well, we are pretty insignificant to a presidential election. I remember that during the 1976 election (President Carter), the networks announced the winner before we even finished voting in Washington. I would like to set up a West Coast Capital so we could have something nice to look at without having to fly 3.000 miles East. At least the U.S. Capital should be moved to Oklahoma.
- America has many times offered sovereign freedom to Puerto Rico by local vote. Hey, we are trying to downsize!
- I think if we want to annex anything, it should be the Banana Republic of Florida.
Seriously, I think that when a country does not take care of it's citizens and sends millions of refugees packing, especially to the U.S., then we have a right to intercede. Canada does not fit this case.
I would like to annex a percentage of Mexico according to the percentage of Mexicans escaping to the U.S. ... then we could give some Mexicans some of their country back. Can you believe it? ... we are considering setting up Mexican refugees with American Social Security Accounts! Mexican power elites are not fit to govern Mexico. Talk about a need to annex!
I read an article today that reported that Mongolia has selected English as the official second language. (

Russian was the second language, but had been found to be not useful. So see, Canada is not alone as having English as a second language! (just had to throw that in). That shows that Canada is on the right track!
