DerbyX DerbyX:
You are forgetting that much of US culture can equally be considered as ours as well. You are also ignoring the influence Canada has on popular US culture. I'm also guessing you were never into "cottage-weekend culture". Very Canadian.

Very true. For all the influence the US has on Canada I'd dare to say that Canada actually has if not more, then a disproportionately large influence on America and Americans.

Especially when this American is in Victoria and it's Tuesday and "Bellini Night" at Milestones! [B-o]

As a Proud American, I find this site quite charming. I would rather hear critisism than nothing at all. Canadians have a unique love/hate perspective on the U.S. that we must attend to.

Canada for being so extremely important to the U.S. is strangely not on our radar screens and we don't generally have access to Canadian media. That is far stranger than this site.

Real Canadians (not Algerians) are always welcome in the U.S. as family. I have found this site to be a lot of fun. We can banter with Canadians here and wrestle each other to the floor.

I hope it is realized that our relationship with the States and our opinions about that relationship are a part of our cultural indentity.

It also nice to know that we, as Canadians, have different opinions about that relationship.

Furthermore, and it has been mentioned many times on this site, alot of opinions that are termed 'anti-American' are in fact really just opinions that should be termed 'pro-Canadian' because that is what they really are.

Although I'm lost about the Algerian thing

...was referring to Ahmed Ressam the Algerian-Canadian who got caught at the border with explosives destined for LAX airport. I don't consider people like him to be real Canadians. However, he will get to go back to Canada in about 30 years and try again.

Hey Trev, if this guy isn't deserving of an anti-Canuck medal, I don't know who is.

He/she hasn't been a member on the site long enough to deserve any medal.

Come on, I'm a patriotic Canadian as you can see my sig. I love Canada, and all I'm saying is just true, that's all.

Yeah right…another self-styled purveyor of truth who feels they are being unfairly judged. Get a clue and then come back.

Look at all the jokes on this website, especially that God saying about Canada and the US.

man get a life, its called a JOKE. There are way more jokes making fun of Canada.

And in the end, Bush never did anything wrong to Canada

This is an extremely ignorant statement, anyone know that many decisions mad ein the US affect Canada.

Get a life? I didn't expect to hear such words from admin. Hmm, interesting, it's probably because I went to the American websites(especially about the cars) too often.

What kind of decisions? Bush trying to sell missile defense program? or? Anything else?

First of all, Canada never listened to the United States, and can we really say we did enough for the Americans? After the Iraq war, when Colin Powell reassured Canada about the Iraq war, I felt mad. Because this is how we treat the southern border.

And another question, do we even get respected by the world? Or are we just being ignored, and nobody cares? My high school always had debates like "How should we deal with the US, world", etc. In the end, we all just felt that no one in the world cares about Canada. Nice memories..

What kind of decisions? Try softwood lumber, or cattle, or Devils Lake. There is a myraid of things that the US just does without thinking about how it effects Canada. So the US closes the boarder to beef, and suddenly Canada is getting repremended for doing fuck all for the US? Sure

By the way, Canada supplies 1/3 more in terms of dollars to the |US than the US supplies back. We have a much smaller econamy. Don't say we do nothing for them.

What can I say. We're the world's Gunga Din. I've heard of worse stereotypes.

"the best country in the world Canada"

Perhaps you need to change this if you don't mean it.

I agree - there's one helluva lot more Canada-bashing going on in this thread than America-bashing, and it's all coming from one place.

I could be very wrong about this, but I think that Canadaluvv doesn't really mean a lot of what this individual is posting here. I sometimes talk a lot of nonsense to the guys in my fantasy football league just to yank some chains for grins. Canada is cool in every respect -- attitude, as well as weather. I have had a very good relationship with Canadians and some of the comments that are made on this website does nothing to diminish my respect for Canada and Canadians. Of course, I'm a former surfer boy and beach resort bum that is used to having a very mellow attitude, so it takes a lot to get me going.

Canadaluvv, how about giving these folks some peace? Americans do truly respect Canada and I have a strong hunch that Canadians feel the same about us. In closing, if you honestly believe in the things that you have posted on this site -- you need some professional help.....and unfortunately, you probably will not find it here.

Go back twenty years or so. Canada basically built Rock N' Roll from the ground up. Well, ok maybe not from the ground up, but we did it better than any of the Americans, and we gave the Brits a run for there money. Most pop-culture in the US worth it's salt stems from Rock, ifso facto its not Americans culture it is in fact Canadian culture.
