The Canadian political system permits multiple political parties. That is political freedom. And sometimes, political chaos. Canada allows for much more political freedom as seen by the participation by many parties in Parliment

America is set up to tolerate only two political parties. Especially with the winner take all presidential electoral systm. Bush won narrowly in two elections, but the system permits him to act as though he won by a landslide. That is not political freedom. Even though theoretically, we could have more parties in America, they will never show up in any federal office.

We Americans should support a constitutional amendment to do away with the electoral college, change the headlock rules of congress and really push for more freedom. Bush's arrogance is proof of a fault in our system. ... and I am somewhat conservative, not a left wingnut.

Not that the USA follows their bill of rights to the tee. BUt after reading Canadian rights you guys treat this like a worthless piece of paper in comparision we treat ours like a bible.

Does this thread strike a cord Canadaka. It has no racial overtones i asked a simple question no need to be like King Trev I.

So it is anti-Canadian for me to feel that America has more freedoms than Canada. Just for your imformation my wife is Canadian. Half of my family moved from Italy to Canada. I find it funny how everyone bashes America With stupid comments, but its ok Cause they are dumb Americans. BUt when i state a factual opinion I am deemed anti Canadian. This site has clips from this hour has 22 minutes you expect Americans to come on here and not defend themselves. Or should we be Canadians and go to the coner and shut up like good little conservatives.

My friend was just murdered on thursday night by a black guy from the poor part of town... should all black people not be let into a bar?? racial profiling is bigotry, but you know thaT dont you.... ? bigot...

God your naive, I hope you never have to rely on instincts in a life or death situation.

Better buy some Kevlar

Oh on that link you posted

What has a guy getting knifed in a bar in Kingston have to do with anything, white people, black people, yellow people, green people kill everyday.

The 19 people that killed 3000 people on 911 were all of the same religion and all Arabs. I have no problems with a guy taking pictures of dams or buildings fitting that profile getting stopped and asked what he is doing. He also should have no problems if he’s doing no wrong

Myself if it was Irish Catholics that did 911 I would have no problems getting stopped

Your points have no merits, climb back into your Liberal World and stay there.

Call a spade a spade. and stop with the PC crap.

it has everything to do with what you are saying,. bad people do bad things all the time... but you shouldnt profile....

OK now you are deflecting the point and this has become a 8th grade school yard argument. Not debate with facts. So you can go smoke your bong and live in a fanasty world. you have yet to make a valid point. Which does not show you are intelligent it shows your ignorance.

I doubt I was defensive thats just another way to hide from the truth. That you beleiev everthing your told. Look who was defensive

NYCisHome - I don't like to argue on this level with a fellow American, as I consider myself outrageousley loyal and patriotic. However, I am becoming a little disturbed with election irregularities here. I am just incredulous that election fraud is increasing in America. In Washington State, the Democrats were mailing in absentee ballots for dead people.

Anyway your link to IS CANADA A FREE NATION? By John Orth is very interesting.

But don't you think that we could create a similar list for America? Be honest now.

Truth is while our systems are a little different Canada and America have paralleled each other in many ways.

I know 50 cal. rifles are legal here, but why does anyone need a 50 cal. ? Hey, I would like to have an array of rocket launchers on top of my car. How about 105 mm howetzer in the front yard to keep the neighbors in line. So we allow 50 cal. and Canadians don't, so what?

It somewhat depends on your definition of freedom. Freedom is a continually contested concept; Canada the the U.S. arugably have the same amount of freedom. Our freedoms just aren't exactly the same; they are different but equal.
