The BBC is a model to be followed, full on intelligent, educational, objective & informative TV. The BBC sets standards which all other stations have to follow, to compete, with NO advertising, their biggest asset, and they fill the time very well. You are more than free to go to any other media station, the opinion you like to hear best. The BBC is respected world wide.

Why did Blair go to war? Same reason as Spain (Aznar), Atlantic trading preference. Blair in my opinion went against public opinion like Aznar. It's called buisness. England has a control freak system ,mind you, but the media is almost an entity of it's own, almost. There are always prices to pay for favoritism, much like in the States where this is much more prevalent. England depends on American attention and buisness, otherwise they'll end up in the European Union. The nationalists don't like the EU, and they'll put up a dirty fight to take power. Canada is , will, and has been a player with the States, contrary to fascist opinion; quietly though.

You must watch alot of Fox News. Wow, are you kidding? You seriously think we are free here? HAHA you just said" Foreign policy aside", when you started your post. Are you saying besides foreign policy we Americans are free? Well your agreeing with most of what I said then. You talk as though foreign policy is not a big deal and your ok with what Bush decides to do. I think that Foreign policy should rank a little higher in your priorities in the future. America does have some freedoms, BUT the current foreign policy and our only two choices in political parties take away our freedoms we once had. You will see the light someday, joining this site is a start.

I don't watch Fox News because most international "news" is completely irrelevant to my life.

Most productive citizens have better things to do than worry about the politics of their country's foreign relations. It has little direct impact on our everyday lives.

How has YOUR life changed since the war on iraq began? If you are not in the defense industry or a peacenik hippie protester, chances are good it has not changed at all.

You cannot be serious with this post. omg. You say you dont like International news, that is the news that matters the most in todays world we live in. The situation in Iraq affects us more and more everyday. My life has change alot since the Iraq war. I am no longer safe from terrorism, since Emperor Bush decided to wage a full scale war on inoccent people. All this war did was create new terrorist who will attack us. Or how about N Korea, another Foreign Relations example. Under Clinton we were friends with N Korea, now under Bush we could possibly get attacked maybe even Nuked. Simply because Bush cannot communicate with the world. So, yes foregin relations is key in my eyes, because it affects our econonmy, safety, and well being.

Careful... "friends" is too full a word. I don't think it's fitting in with the post.

I like what America can become and what it was before its foreign policy became agressive and hardlined. We have work to do, but someday we will be more like Canada and some European countries. The citizens just have to wake up and fight for whats right. That is less spending on the facist military state we are living in now, and spending on more important social programs. Even though we only have two choices each election, a vote for the Democrat can move us more and more in the right direction through time. Until the right wing is no longer around. We Americans simply need to open our eyes to what the media is feeding us, they are mainly war-hawks reporting everything.

Is this post a joke?

Foreign policy aside - Americans overwhelmingly favor individualism and freedom over collectivism and state control. The vast majority of Americans believe in hard work and self-determinism rather than bloated welfare states dispensing government handouts to anyone who asks.

America will never be like Canada or Europe. America, unlike socialist countries, has a bright future in the competitive global economy.

Umm, dude? Socialism is the key to a birght future, as long as its used in moderation. American Capitalism will be the destruction of you guys. This is why most of my American relatives are moving out of the country. They see that America is moving in the wrong direction. The only ones staying behind are those who don't want to move because it's too much work.

Capitalism is nature. Ever heard of survival of the fittest? Socialism is not nature. Socialism just allows for the one evil animal to break away and use its power to destroy all the weak. Ever heard of Stalin? Like it or not, the world will never see a time when all humans are all equally loving. It just takes one to desire more power- and guess what, there are many like that.

Hmm, I could go into a whole rant on how China is booming economically while being for all intents and purposes, socialist. I'm sure you really don't need to hear it, not like you'd understand in the least anyway.

Or you could simply mention that both China and Japan are accumulating massive amounts of dollars as a result of their trade surpluses with the United States. But instead of selling those trade dollars into the foreign exchange markets, they, and other countries, are hoarding the dollars and investing them in US Treasury securities. As a result the US dollar is currently trading at a much higher exchange rate than it should versus the renminbi, the yen, other Southeast Asian currencies and, in fact, most currencies.
It is China that's keeping the Greenback afloat.

If they decide to sell off all their bills..

Greenspan will finally keel over.

Everything I turn over and look at says "Made in China." 300 million people doing a trade embargo would sink China and raise jobs here at home as we'd start manufacturing our own products. I have a feeling they will keep on keepin on with what they're doing.
