Hey folks. Just wondering if there are any northern Border..(The border between Canada and the United States for those who live farther south.) around.

Just wondering what you might think of this new passport or 'other secure document' requirement that is being enforced by your adminstration.

This will cause problems big time because with approximately 40% of Americans holding valid passports the day trips to the Casinos in Ontario and the cheap shopping elsewhere in Canada will get a little more difficult. This rule affects Americans too so it's not just a Canada thing.

It effects as many who let it. Honestly passports are easy to get. Just need a birth certificate, photos, and a small fee (I dont remember how much mine was). And it lasts for 10 years. Honestly its worth the hassle to get one.

When we go across they usually take your drivers licence to look at. In the future they'll need your passport instead. They just scan them or swipe them I believe and it's very quick. Maybe it'll speed things up at Pearson.

Personally I have always had a passport and have always used it when crossing into the US. It seems to save alot of hassle and I tend to think that it is faster as all they do is swipe the passport through the reader and BAM all your info is right there on the agents terminal.

I've never had a passport and have been living in the US for three years.

Didn't even need a passport to get my Kentucky drivers license.

Well I fly into Canada 3 or 4 times a year and I have always used a passport, I really don't see the big deal. Whether it's a driver's license or a passport, it's the same to me. It's easy to get, one trip to the post office and you're done.

In the lower mainland, in many places, all there is is a three foot ditch seperating the US and Canada with roads running parallel on both sides. Many Canadian residents living there used to have an American post box.

I dont see what the big deal is about getting a passport to get into the U.S. their good for 5 years, And if you can afford to travel to the U.S. you should be able to afford to spare 85$ every five years. Or 17$ a year if you prefer a payment plan method.

The latest descussions will be control checks at the border between states. For example , drive from NB into ME and then when you enter NH there will be another control check there . WTF is this crap turning the west into what eastern europe was ? FASTPASS my azz ......There are plenty of inland border patrol stop points in ME ,NH & VT already.
