I hope PM Harper pressures Bush to have the soldiers who fire the shots charged with endangerment and make them pay the Canadian gov't for damage to the vehicle and publically apologize to the diplomats, the CDN gov't, and Canadians.
I think the real problem is the U.S. Military procedures, or the implementation of those procedures.....This is not an isolated incident....It's apparently pretty common.....I saw a documentary where a U.S. Soldier in a tank blew up a car with an entire Iraqi family in it because they didn't stop while driving down a highway......When he realized what he did he burst into tears....
Remember the Italian security agent who was shot by Americans a few months ago right after freeing a hostage held by Iraqi Insurgents?
They need examine their procedure for warning before shooting, or their training, or whatever because their system doesn't work.....
When you're driving what do you think would happen if you were looking at the hands of someone on the side of the road? You'd probably drive into a telephone pole....
They should be using sirens, or something loud that catches people's attention.........
