I remember doing a motorcycle ride to Yellowstone National Park. There was bud light beer at every Exxon gas station, and it was cheaper than Coke or Pepsi.

I think I lived on beer and garlic sausage on that trip. It wasn't easy to share a tent with me.

Overall, the big Canadian beers are way etter than the big American ones. I'll take a Moosehead or an Alexander Keith's any day over any big-label American beer.

The Microbews are about the same (all good), but there are more of them in the States.

I would hope Bud Light would be cheaper than Pepsi. Pepsi probably has more alcohol and doesn't taste like piss.

The second love of my life: Garrison Micro-Brewery in Halifax.

Their Nut Brown Ale is now my favourite beer of all time, and I have a pair of these two litre badboys to take down to the brewery whenever I get the urge:

Bud light has 4.2% alcohol, thats not straight Pepsi that you have been drinking.

BTW, you are correct. Pepsi doesn't taste like piss, it tastes like someone shit in a Dr. Pepper.

Don't feel like going back to see if I posted in this thread previously, but regarding the question:

If you compare Mass Produced Canadian vs Mass Produced American, your best choice would be to take the Canadian.

Canadian Microbrew vs American Microbrew, that's a tough one as it's really difficult for most of us to sample every Microbreww available, but I'd Wager that due to shear numbers alone, American Microbrews are likely to come out on top.

What do you mean by 'microbrew', places like Brewsters? If so, I've been there, it was pretty damn good, but if you could put in a bottle, i still wouldn't bring it home to have at a BBQ.

Microbrew is any Brewery that makes small batches of specialized Beer. Anything from a U-Brew(have never heard of Brewsters, but probably similar)to a small Brewery such as Granville Island Brewery.

I have tried many American beers, and personally they all tasted poorly. I prefer Canadian beer over American beer, and I don't judge beers my some sites ratings or w/e it is you are putting up. I judge beers by the vast populations ratings on beer, both Canadian and American's.

Trust a rating website for the best beer is bs, because everybody has different tastes and likes different things. For example, the Irish can drink Guisness praticly every day and they love that stuff. But you get any person from any other country and most of them would only take a sip before they rejected it.

Canadian's and American's alike love Canadian beer, and Canadians and American's alike like American beer. Overall though Canada has a lot of good beer, compared to the US who has more waterbeer then they do actual beer. Sure America has some great beer, but most of America's favourites are Canadian beer, and manifactured in Canada making them Canadian beer. So if the best beer is decided by ratings, I will go with the ratings of population over the ratings of a couple beer critics.

As molson states "Only Molson Canadian has true Canadian taste. It comes from over 220 years of brewing experience. A unique cold brewing process and only the finest ingredients this land has to offer. The result is a premium lager that pleases the world's toughest beer critics - Canada's beer drinker's"

I stated that not to say that Canadian drinkers are the best beer critics, but to state that people who actually drink beer are the real beer critics and not some individuals on some website or wherever.

microbrews are pretty much all I drink. My dad started brewing his own beer and got me into all sorts of microbreweries in the states. I've tried a few microbrews from other countries, but haven't had the pleasure of having any from canada.
I highly suggest trying various microbrews from where ever you're at. They usually try things "outside the norm" and you may find a type of beer that you really like, and otherwise not have found.

edit: just my two cents. -____-

Well... Bacardi boy... you must really like the Molson's, but you didn't say which one..... there are 45 Molson selections. And one of them is brewed in Mexico! Only 2 of 9 Molson brewers are in Canada!

Now, my Deschutes Black Butte Porter scored 3.65 by drinkers. Yes... you can log onto RateBeer.com and vote for your beer! A lot of your Molson's barely rate into the two's. And when a Molson beer rates 1.07 (Molson Ex Light)... what is that about? ....beer flavored water?

Two Molson beers are on the list of Worst Beers in the World: http://www.ratebeer.com/Ratings/TheWorstBeers.asp

Molson is a Canadian myth. Come down the states sometime and have some of the good stuff.
