Sigh....
Hypocrite:
1- a person who professes beliefs and opinions that he does not hold
2- someone who leads you to believe something that is not true
3- someone with an assured and ingratiating manner
4- a person who is inwardly evil but outwardly professes to be virtuous

Let's rule out #1 and #4 because I can't prove beliefs or evil. #3 is a gimme but we may all be guilty on that one.

Are you always this much of an asshole? Most of this debate has been between Tman1 * Mustang1 (both very respectable and M1 is a red tory and T1 voted con) and Yank-in-NY. A fine debate all around (The lads won) and suddenly you cry about the Liberals in a debate that did anything but feature them. Pathetic.

Grow the fuck up and move on. It was a perfectly enjoyable debate without you adding your own perverse politics into it.

Exibit A is my quote from page 1.

I don't need to refresh the memory of the jury or the court but I will simply point out that the majority of historical debate took place approximately between pages 3 to 12.

Exibit B is from Derby's quote on page 12. I draw you're attention to this line:

Since we have shown that my ONLY comment about the liberals was on page 1, I could not possibly have "suddenly cry about the Liberals " AFTER the historical debate.

I put it to you that DerbyX did knowingly and willfully, attempt to sway the readers into believing something that is not true. By the above definition, someone who leads you to believe something that is not true is a hypocrite, therefore, DerbyX is a hypocrite.

<sigh>

That was a rhetorical question, and since you saw it fit to ignore it’s rather transparent offering and painfully try to establish a point, I’ll respond.

Firstly, you can rationalize, pontificate, Xerox dictionaries and stretch whatever subjective conclusions you want but it still doesn’t alter your own conduct. You were hypocritical. Now you are simply trying to deflect points onto others in a desperate attempt to avoid accepting responsibility for your disingenuous conduct.

Whether Derby was a hypocrite (again, your point is hardly persuasive) is moot. You were. And you are continuing the trend by chastising him for allegedly committing an act that you also are guilty of – that’s hypocritical. You can’t seem to fathom the notion that sanctimonious conduct isn’t a virtue. It’s in bad taste. And so far, all you want to do is “do as you say, and not as you do” and that seems rather insincere.

RUEZ RUEZ:
tritium tritium:
On behalf of Canadians everywhere I'd like to offer an apology to the United States of America. We haven't been getting along very well recently and for that, I am truly sorry.

I'm sorry we called George Bush a moron.

He is a moron but it wasn't nice of us to point it out. If it's any consolation, the fact that he's a moron shouldn't reflect poorly on the people of America. After all it's not like you actually elected him.

I'm sorry about our softwood lumber. Just because we have more trees than you doesn't give us the right to sell you lumber that's cheaper and better than your own.

I'm sorry we beat you in Olympic hockey. In our defense I guess our excuse would be that our team was much, much, much, much better than yours.

I'm sorry we burnt down your white house during the war of 1812. I notice you've rebuilt it! It's Very Nice.

I'm sorry about your beer. I know we had nothing to do with your beer but, we Feel your Pain.

I'm sorry about our waffling on Iraq. I mean, when you're going up against a crazed dictator, you wanna have your friends by your side. I realize it took more than two years before you guys pitched in against Hitler, but that was different. Everyone knew he had weapons.

And finally on behalf of all Canadians, I'm sorry that we're constantly apologizing for things in a passive-aggressive way, which is really a thinly veiled criticism. I sincerely hope that you're not upset over this. We've seen what you do to countries you get upset with.
It's sad that you must berate someone else's country in order to feel better about your own.

Well said.

Inferiority complex is scary.

But if you can get over it? You will see America as the leader of the free world, and also you will see the US as the greatest superpower since the Roman Empire.

And this is the country where one of their greatest cities still looks like a junk heap? After 8 months, one would think that the "leaders of the free world" could hire some dump trucks to clean up New Orleans. Or has the "greatest superpower since the Roman Empire" decided that its own concerns are less important than world domination? Isn't that what Nero was up to?

And what you are saying is completely nonsense that is almost worthless to listen.

Since when did the U.S. care about the World Domination? You just practically do not even understand the difference between the Roman Empire and the U.S., do you. The United States is only fighting to defend the free world from the brutal terrorists, not to dominate the world(But if you are too ignorant and Canucky to understand, you might just end up thinking that the U.S. is only fighting for the world domination)

And can the dump trucks clean up all the mess in New Orleans? Also, are you saying there is nobody who cares about New Orleans now?

Did I say anything about nobody caring about New Orleans? Don't be paranoid! That's my reason for the comment - a fine city with a tragic event and debris is bulldozed to the side of the road and left to rot! Dump trucks would fix the problem in this photo, my friend!

And, exactly what brutal Iraqi terrorists are you defending the free world from? Don't recall any Iraqis being involved in 9/11!

As for the U.S. not being interested in world domination... hmmm, let's see: Argentina (1890), Chile (1891), Haiti (1891), Hawaii (1893), Nicaragua (1894), China (1894), Korea (1895), Panama (1895), Nicaragua (1896), China (1898), Phillipines (1898), Cuba (1898), Puerto Rico (1898), Guam (1898)... whew, and I'm not even into the 20th Century yet!

CBS News: "Four Stars (Highest Rating).
The Scariest Goddamn Film You'll See This Year"

AMERICA: FREEDOM TO FASCISM
"FOUR STARS (Highest Rating). The scariest goddamn film you'll see this year. It will leave you staggering out of the theatre, slack-jawed and trembling. Makes 'Fahrenheit 9/11' look like 'Bambi.' After watching this movie, your comfy, secure notions about America -- and about what it means to be an American -- will be forever shattered. Producer/director Aaron Russo and the folks at Cinema Libre Studio deserve to be heralded as heroes of a post-modern New American Revolution. This is shocking stuff. You'll be angry, you'll be disgusted, but you may actually break out in a cold sweat and feel a sickness deep in your gut; I would advise movie theatre managers to hand out vomit bags. You may end up needing one."

you are not even into the 20th century yet because you don't want to bring that up.

Don't tell me Canada had such a huge role in the World Wars.

And Iraqi terrorists? Did I say the Iraqi terrorists? Besides, the Toronto bombing plot, it was the FBI who tracked those a-holes down for you, wasn't it?
And Al-Zarqawi was the Al-Qaeda leader in Iraq. And damn right, the U.S. Air force killed this bastard.

Yankgreat, here's some of the 20th century for you:

Panama (1901), Honduras (1903), Dominican Republic (1903), Korea (1904), Cuba (1906), Nicarauga (1907), Honduras (1907), Panama (1908), Nicaragua (1910), Honduras (1911), China (1911), Cuba (1912), Panama (1912), Honduras (1912), Nicaragua (1912), Dominican Republic (1914), yadda, yadda, yadda ad nauseum...

As for Canada's role in the World Wars, I seem to recall that WW 1 was from 1914 to 1918 and Canada was in it from the start. Oh wait, the U.S. finally got involved in 1917... We were in WW2 in 1939 when it started and, let's see... you had to be attacked in 1941 before you got in. Nice!

And, to finalize this thread, here's some information that I'm sure most any Canadian would recognize - on my trip to New Orleans last month, I chatted with a young man born and raised there who was planning a trip to Australia. He wanted me to bring him some Canada flag patches to sew on his jackets so the Aussies would think he was Canadian! He (seriously!) said he'd tell them he was from Quebec. I guess he figured the Aussies would mistake his Louisiana drawl for "Quebecois"! I love all you proud Americans!
