So, i have an extra $4000 laying in my savings account... what do you say is the best thing to invest in right now, keeping the dying economy in mind lol. bonds? GICs? def. not stocks, much too erratic right now.

I would go with a short term GIC for now or anything that will keep you ahead of inflation. I think most GIC's are around the 4._ mark so you wont be making much but at least it won't be depreciating.

Not really. Gold has been fluctuating for awhile, but not really rising anymore. It might still go up, but is not behaving in a way that many thought it would, so there's a risk in going that route now.

4000 is not much. do you need an rrsp? if not buy coke-cola shares. everyone can afford to buy a coke

lily, you should put a smilie on that one ..

long term, yes, right now, no.


GIC would prolly be the safest right now,
or put it in to an rrsp, provided you still get the tax reductions.
