Anyone hear the ordeal over the Highway 102 Tree Tire?

For anyone who doesn't know, this is the tree tire (or the tire tree, if that suits your fancy):

Which has been alongside the highway in Bedford for quite a few years.

It came down somehow the other day, much to the dismay of many, but there are rumours that it's back... I haven't been out there since all this happened, so I can't confirm anything. Some say it's the orginal tire, others say it isn't.

Explanations as to why it fell range from someone needing a spare, to that it's rare rubber (tire) tree and it sheds its "fruit" every few years.

Found a Chronicle Herald article here

Not sure if it makes a sound, but it at least makes the evening news!

Hal-FM had a reported sighting of the new tire this morning. And it is a new tire, has a white wall.

I still want to know how in the hell it got there in the first place. Not the kind of place I want to climb to.!

I thought they brought that in every winter... I remember seeing one last summer, is that a new one?

That is a replacement the Boy Scouts put out there about 10 or 12 years ago now. Yeah they bring it in every winter so no one will make off with it like they did the original.
