They do say Québec City is the most European city in North America.
Since I haven't been to every city in North America, I can't confirm this.
Love the architecture too, a mix of French and British, and the old fortifications.
And as you can see on some of the photos, a lot of up and down walking.
Part 2 pics 4 and 5 are very typical of mainland European small or "Old Town" square. If no one told me I'd have said it was a pic from Europe.
Brenda is right about the difference between here and there though. I remember our fist trip back to Winnipeg after living in Germany for awhile. B
Even the modern European centres look cooler. Take Berlin for example

BTW we lived in the sloping balcony building, the Canadian Embassy is under the ballon, not finished yet in this picture.
I hope they do whatever it takes to keep Old Quebec like the way it is as its really a unique oasis in North America.
