My latest illustration I was working on this weekend... All hand painted by me except for the sea & sky. I created and rendered the water & sky in 3D using Vue Po Studio 7.0.

Most of the painting was done in Corel Painter IX.5. Color correction and cropping was done in Corel Paint Shop Pro X2...

As an exercise I used no reference photos or drawings for painting of this including the girl and the dog...

What sort of tablet you use?
Wacom?
How big?

Intuos 3 by Wacom 4x6. Would like a bigger one but don't have the real estate on my desk. Plus I'm told if you use a bigger tablet it results in more arm movement.

The Intuos 3 was on sale for $189 early in the new year. Came with Photoshop Elements 6 (I prefer & use Corel Paint Shop Pro X2) and Corel Painter Essentials which is a lighter version of Corel Paint. I already had a purchased copy of Painter IX.5...

Attack of the Dragon was an older image I did about 3 years ago. It's mostly 3D with some 2D drawing (archer)...

Sky & sea were rendered in Vue Pro Studio ver 7. Rocks were modeled by me during Christmas when I was playing with a demo/trial of ZBrush 3.1 (Man I love that app)... Seagulls are from two separate photos I shot last summer and plant growth on rocks were created with PD Particles...

The images were all composited in Corel Paint Shop Pro X2 and then painted over in Corel Painter IX.5 using chalk, camel oil & impasto brushes(Man I love that app... Did I say that already)...
