Forum: Canada/US Relations   Topic: Who cares what America thinks?

The biggest problem with America is the arrogance of the government. "We are the biggest, we are the best, we are the most powerful, if you don't like it we'll force it down your throat...", etc. I freely admit that our government is beyond help or hope. I'm hanging on for the ride and hop...

Forum: Current Events   Topic: California speeder claims ignorance of metric system

Californians are typically in their own little world to start with. It would have been easy to say that she could have at least taken the metric speed limit and multiplied it in her head by 0.6, but that would assume that she remembered anything that was taught in school. And we all know how success...

As long as you start building more prisons now, you will be fine :)

I'm hoping to move out of the US to Canada. I definitely don't want Canada moving into the US! The tyee article hit it just right!

I'm new here and have not heard the little girl's story before. I am glad she is doing okay. I have a 6yr old and a 19mo old. I cannot even imagine what the family has gone through. I will definitely be keeping this child in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I could be there to cheer her on on her 1st...

Forum: Current Events   Topic: Parched U.S. states could start 'water wars'

True, water wars have been ongoing in the west, however Georgia is our newest problem, especially the Atlanta metro area. For years Atlanta has had unbridled growth with little regulation on water use or water-saving incentives. Now that we have a long-term drought, and their one-and-only source of ...

We have the same thing here in the states. All of the hyphonated Americans are tearing the unity of the country apart. Most people claiming to be African-American have never even BEEN to Africa. Of course, with 90% of Americans not knowing anything about geography, maybe they do think they have been...

Sadly, it is usually the ones that have the good ideas that get washed out because they have good ideas, not popular ones. The reason the Dems usually do so well is that the take money from the "evil" rich and give it to the "victimized" poor. Vote for me and I will take care of ...

Didn't say it was perfect! If our government is involved, it most definitely isn't perfect! :) Definitely wish the US would allow more lumber to be imported. We are paying through the nose for what we have available.

I have definitely seen more stuff for sale down here that is made in Canada since NAFTA was signed. A vast majority of frozen foods and a lot of lumber products have Canada stamped on it. My kid's wooden swing set and my shed were both made in Canada. Nearly impossible to find anything here that say...

That would be assuming that you could find a bank to exchange it :) It takes 2 days to get Canadian currency at a bank in SC and two weeks to get it converted back! Now I just wait and use an ATM when I get there and keep whats left over for the next trip.

The whole NAFTA thing is just more sabre rattling. Neither candidate has anything of value to talk about, especially since both have gotten into trouble for talking without thinking. They had to come up with something to try to get the public's support. Facing job losses and poor judgement in financ...

That is big business for you. "Sorry, Mrs Widow, your husband died tonight, but you will be happy to know that he was following company policy..."
