Bullshit. For one thing, Allen gets his facts wrong - O Canada was written in French, and then adapted into English. The French and English lyrics are not at all alike. Anyhow, let 'em sing it in Hindi or any other language. It's not like it would become an official version or anything, and there i...

I unfortunately have no answer about magazines or books printed in Canada. Next time I see our Magazine Sales Rep I'll chat with him and see if I can get any more answers. Hey hudson.... did I summarize what you were going to say as well, that why you quoted without adding anything? Sorry for...

I work in retail management and believe me, I have had to deal with more than one complaint. I decided to ask our magazine supplier and as he stated, "Many of the magazines (such as non-time critical ones) like cottage life, quilting, etc, etc, are sometimes printed months in advance, prior to...

I worked for the C&O railroad and lost my job because they pulled up stakes. Nothing to do with currency differentials. Worked for 25 years for another American Company (started out Canadian). Got my layoff notice in March. This was currency related. We were a union shop trying to compete with a...

Great Idea. Open the borders. They want our oil and other minerals. In return do we want their crime. Guns kill / people don't. Who in the world would want their justice system. When an American feels he wants to be the sheriff, all he does is wait for an election. It's a popularity thing you know. ...

I apologize but I couldn't quite pick up what you were saying. You are pleased with Starbucks. If you were referring to double pricing at Chapters, they have not ripped the American prices off their books as of this past Wednesday in London Ont. on Wellington Road. :D

If I am not mistaken, Chapters also own Cole's. I am not going to get into the international money issue. USA economists are afraid that they are heading for a recession, which will pull Canada into it. My point is::: If the American dollar was one cent more than the Canadian, the Americans would n...

I wouldn't be against adopting a common currency, but I wouldn't want to adopt the U.S. dollar. However I doubt they are eager to drop their dollar in favour of a North American dollar. This will never, never, never happen. The United States will never cede control of its currency to any foreign en...

I really don't think that the US is going to be too thrilled with the idea. Really, with the Queen and our prime ministers all over their money? Kind of mocks their civil war, don't you think? 1.) Control over our economy. With 10% of the population of the US we would effectively be surrendering ou...

It sucks I know. I have to pay GST on a bag of chips, the gas I get and now its books that should be lower than American prices because of the Canadian dollar which has recently gone down in very giant leaps. Blame Mulroney, he invented GST. Problem is, the surge in our dollar wouldn't last and eve...

 Yesterday I went to Chapter's Bookstore and bought seven paperbacks. When I went to the cashier I asked if I would be paying American or Canadian prices. Out of these seven novels, two were priced $2.00 over American price. The other five were priced from $3.00 to $3.75 above American prices....
