I think a U.N. mission would be percieved differently than what we have there now. I agree. The Taliban would expect the UN troops to sit on their ass while the Taliban went about their business the same way the UN troops were useless as teats on a bull in Yugoslavia, Rwanda, Somalia, and etc. U.N....

Instead he was fight an enemy that was almost totally focued on independence Not true. North Vietnam was independent. So was South Vietnam. It was a war of aggression where the North wanted to conquer the South...which we eventually let them do at the cost of about 200,000 to 1,000,000 South Vietna...

Enduring Freedom was part of justifyable U.S. operation in Afghanistan because of the presence of Al-Qaeda there. I'm saying it's never been a U.N. run operation which some people seem to think. Nothing in Afghanistan was UN run. They tasked NATO. NATO accepted. What you say above is different from...

I'm also an Amercian citizen and I've seen how negative campaigning down there has screwed up politics. It's too bad that Harper has imported it here the way he has. Umm what? Harper imported this now? Right. He's brought it to a new level. Running non-stop attack adds against Dion before an electi...

I don't know about that. The last time someone critiqued what he has already accomplished he complained that it was "unfair". Critiqued or attacked, with the conservatives now it's really hard to tell the difference. I've been around a while and this is the most agressive campaigning I've...

Considering Paul Martins doctor made a huge pile of money on income trusts, the "follow the money" method of finding the crooks would be pretty short. I also recall that Dion recieved a Dinosaur award as enviro-minister but the press didn't care about that then. How about sticking with th...

Hmmm... Seems to me that Harper stated that he'd never tax Income Trusts and Canadians invested on that information. A couple of months later he reversed himself and Canadians lost billions. Or how about his change of heart on the environment, last year his government was awarded the Dinosaur award ...

Enduring Freedom was part of justifyable U.S. operation in Afghanistan because of the presence of Al-Qaeda there. I'm saying it's never been a U.N. run operation which some people seem to think. How much capability is going to be enough? How many divisions and air regiments did the Soviets send in t...

Appearance? Interesting. Which other nations did you have in mind? You'd feel better if the mission was more "traditional", despite the hideously poor management and leadership displayed by the UN. Where does the fact that the UN has placed it's support behind NATO and the US (Enduring Fr...

Like you point out it's not that simple. The government we're supporting is only strong in the north. Canada is operating in the south where the Taliban is it's strongest. The people who are fighting us are using the local population as cover and for support. Some of the same people we're building b...

........So what are the policies of getting rid of Dion? You know, other then assassination.... I would have a hard time suggesting someone wack this idiot, but since he's not really a Canadian at heart, I say "May the best shot win!". But seriously, the only way you can get this g...

I can't help but wonder what role the Conservative party's anti-Dion ads played in this nosedive. Actually, that's not true. I know the played a role. Although Canadians generally insist they dislike aggressive political ads, they work -- at least that's the theme of the Warren Kinsella book I'm re...
